Chelsea Classical StudioLinseed Oil Paint Medium is a 32 oz. bottle of cold-pressed, extra pale, naturally clarified linseed oil refined through a proprietary non-chemical, non-heat process. It brightens oil paintings by reducing yellow cast, improves paint fluidity and binding, accelerates drying times, and cures to a resilient classic finish. Superior oil
This is noticeably superior to typical artist grade oil. It has been washed of virtually all mucilage and do is pure and archivally sound. Paint mixed with it has a nice buttery flow from a soft brush and scrubs in very nicely from a transparent stain with wetbrush application to a scruffy pebbly “gritty” visual texture with soft drybrush application. Dries bone dry with no tackiness from mucilage absorbing moisture from the atmosphere. Expensive, but long term economical. Very much worth the cost. Treasured addition to my studio.
