I don’t walk my little five pound pup when it’s raining, but I use this when we take him out to do his business in our yard. The chain attached to the umbrella is rather heavy, so I clip it to the umbrella and just walk with him into the yard since our yard is completely fenced. He’s never outside alone since we have to be careful of the Eagles we have here, lots of them. This umbrella works great for the yard trips and I’m really glad we bought it. I like that the dome part is flexible, however, if there is a part that might wear out, I think that would be the part.

Don’t buy
The handle does not snap together as described. Want to return it but can’t. Cheaply made product. Does not work as described.

Waiting for rain.
I first ordered the cheaper one and returned it because i couldn't fold it. Still having difficulty with it. This one is better, but it wasn't worth 25 dollars. Well, back to trying to fold it again....

Difficult to attach without frightening Dog
Attaching it to Dog without freaking her out was hysterical. Never used.
