I’m not sure it’s date syrup
I am not sure that this is truly date syrup, as when I looked at the ingredients it says absolutely nothing. My daughter has a very mild allergic reaction to the real date syrup we have at home (bought it in Israel). I was quite confident about my assumption so I let her have a spoonful - no allergic reaction! Will be happy to hear from the company regarding the ingredients as I am very curious about what’s actually in it.

Made from date syrup
Ingredients say "date syrup" so checked with Biona exactly what that means and got this clarification; "Biona Organic Date Syrup is made from 100% date fruit concentrate. The dates are pressed to release the fresh date juice, which is then filtered and heated to reduce the water content which results in the final date syrup consistency.During the concentration process of reducing the water content, the heat releases the natural aromas from the dates which gives the final syrup an intense fruity, full bodied taste with hints of malt and caramel."Tastes nice but I will buy dates and blend my own to get the whole date.

Healthy Pancake Day Coming Up!
I try to avoid refined sugar as much as possible. However, my sweet tooth still mithers me for sugary treats. Biona Organic Date Syrup is lovely and not too sweet. Perfect packaging makes it easy to use. With Pancake Day imminent I thought I'd try it on my healthy low-carb, gluten-free pancakes which I'd smothered with organic butter. Lush! I'm so happy that I've found a lovely, healthy and delicious dessert: another great discovery thanks to Amazon! I can imagine this syrup will add some pizzaz to porridge or plain Greek yogurt. Can't wait to try. What a great invention?

Does it contains all the soluble fiber from the dates???
I'm not sure if it's a whole food, as in liquified dates, with nothing removed. If it contains all the soluble fiber that dates have, then that soluble fiber will delay the absorption of the sugar and therefore stop unhealthy sugar spikes. Hopefully it is with all the soluble fiber, as it would probably make it the healthiest sweetener you can buy.My 3 year old keeps stealing it from the fridge and sucking it. She thinks it's healthy chocolate. My wife is also using it to drizzle on fruit/yoghurt mixes. Very nice, although, to be fair, it's impossible for date syrup not to be tasty (seeing as thought dates are full of sugar).

Nothing to write home about
I thought I'd try this as something different to sweeten porridge. Whilst there's nothing wrong with it, I don't think it adds any sweetness at all and I won't be buying it again. I did try putting some on toast, but it has a strange sort of flavour - well like dates I suppose hahaha - but not something that goes with anything that I would use it for.
