not just for tennis
I know tennis balls are primarily thought of for use in a game called Tennis, or for dogs who love these bouncy neon things with wild abandon. I do too, but primarly for washing awkward items that cause my machine to unbalance and go woop,woop,woop as they fail to spin. Add three tennis balls and all is right, the machine no longer goes into a clunking spasm and spins the clothes, towels, rugs, and shoes to a less than soggy mess. I also add them to the tumble dryer occasionally. They are good as they don't absorb water and dry out quickly, so they are ready for the next crazy load. I have also found them useful when dying clothes as they let the dye move around the clothes better than when they are tangled in clumps in the machine. I get a more evenly dispersed colour on items when dyed with the balls added to the washing machine.

Pretty low quality, large seam round the middle!
These were for my toddler grandson so quality not important. Wouldn't like to play tennis with them though.
