Quality, price, looks, all superior
4 days from purchase to delivery.I don't get the supposed problems people talk about in their reviews. Let's see. The doorbell rings, the box is delivered. You open one end and easly slip out the plastic bag in which the umbrella came. Take off the bag. There are two parts, top and bottom. You put the bottom in your stand or table. You slip the top over the bottom until it clicks. You reach under the edge and crank until it opens. If you want to tilt it, you depress the button, just like every other tilting umbrella. I am so glad I didn't "listen" to the negative reviews since those people must have been talking about a different product than I got. Did it say anywhere you were getting a base? Of course not.The Olefin material is shiny, almost like satin. The terra cotta is like terra cotta should be. It's better than the picture. The shaft is a dark brown coated metal, very nice with the terra cotta. The crack works easily. When this baby is open, it is impressive. Much nicer than the one it's replacing which was canvas and hard to keep clean and free of mold. The price - less than $75.00 incluiding shipping - wouldn't buy you a 7-8 foot non-cranking beach umbrella at Target or K-Mart or any of the big box stores around here. Will it blow away in a wind? None of our others have however I realize if heavy weather is forecast, it's a smart thing to take in items from the yard before it hits. Common sense would dictate at least folding the umbrella down. If we get a tornado warning, I'll just crank it down, push the little button, slip off the top and bring it in the house. If I could give it 10 stars it wouldn't be over rating.

Wow! Nicer than I expected.
Very high quality umbrella. I bought the Terra Cotta color, which is very nice. There are two reasons I gave it 4 instead of 5 stars. The first is the complete lack of instructions. Now, normally you wouldn't need instructions for working a stupid umbrella, but this one has a tilt feature called Auto Tilt. But, there is nothing that tells you how to make it automatically tilt. There's a small slotted screw head that looks like you would put a screw driver into, but that does nothing. Finally, I look up Ace Evert on the internet and gave them a call. When I asked the question, the fellow at Ace was very nice and laughed. He said "You would believe how many times I have to answer this question." He told me to continue cranking the umbrella past the point where it is fully opened and it will begin to tilt on its own. Sure enough it worked. But, I wouldn't have tried this unless he told me. It looks like you would be taking a chance on braking the umbrella if you over opened it. The second thing that contributed to the 4 stars is the photo of the umbrella shows a base. The umbrella does not come with a base. You need to order a base separately. Overall though, the umbrella is great and I wouldn't hesitate to purchase another one if I needed it.

Nice for the price
This is not super high quality, but it is good quality for the money. It's made with very lightweight aluminum, which means if the wind take it and blows it over, it could break. My wife likes to leaves it up alone in windy weather, so it got flung across the patio and broke in its second year. I managed to reinforce the very thin aluminum bar, which gave us eight more years of outdoor use before the fabric finally started to disintegrate.Overall, it looks nice and works well, but it's not fancy nor especially sturdy. We bought another this year though because it's good enough.

Durable, looks great, on quirk
I'll start with the quirk since many of the benefits have already been described. I noticed others have the same problem as me -- at some point the umbrella either refuses to open up all the way or the tilting mechanism appears to be broken (the two are related). The issue is that the 2 pins in the tilting mechanism tend to come out, blocking the crank. All you need to do is hammer them back in and the umbrella is as good as new.So with that aside, I have to say the umbrella mechanism, while feeling cheap, is durable. Even with the pin sticking out and me cranking away at it as hard as I can, it never broke. Knock on wood, but this is a good sign that it's nearly unbreakable. It's true though that the last few turns on the crank can be very difficult. The "canvas" is also strong. I live in NorCal where the weather is mild so maybe I'm not a good example, but I left the umbrella open for the last 12 months and it's as strong as the day I bought it. The khaki color does an incredible job of looking clean despite being under a large tree that drops leaves and other debris on it year round. The paint on the pole does scratch off, but it still exceeds expectations at this price point.

Ace Evert 9-Feet Auto Tilt Market Umbrella Terra Cotta
This is an awesome Umbrella so far so good we live in very windy conditions and this Umbrella is standing up to the wind. I was a little worried about buying this Umbrella because of all the nasty reviews about the tilt problems I am not sure if people are really stupid or what but we had not problem at all just crank it up and keep cranking and the Umbrella will start to tilt automatically pretty simple if you ask me. Maybe others has a defective Umbrella but it does everything stated and who needs instructions come on people seriously really??? Pull out of box snap pole with pole and wala that is about it oh and it comes with a ball that screws in the top actually I feel pretty smart that I figured it all out on my own lol :) People also state that there is no stand lol come on really I have never heard of a Umbrella that come with a stand that would be neat and all but really. Home Depot sells a 200 LBS stand for $50.00 it works great just real heavy to get out of car and set up. I am totally 100% satisfied with this Umbrella and it looks great too. I will cross my fingers that it lasts a long time in the climate we are in. Lake Tahoe, Calif.
