MECO WIFI Wireless Signal Amplifier Repeater AP 300M Signal Enhancement White American Plug

I am a software engineer with 2 hot spots and multiple wireless printers, I am familar with hooking up wireless devices but certainly not a network engineer.Been jacking around for a week now with this. Here is my experience:- User manual is bad. I recommend go to youtube and search on Wireless Repeater No Name, that was a huge benefi- the youtube video shows disconnecting existing wireless connection, the click on connect, wait a few minutes, enter the IP address into the web browser and this page displays for completing the install. I kept beating my head against the wall wondering/trying, how is this going to work without an internet connection? Affter reading various posts for 3 days, I found a post that said, have to use that ethernet to set it up. I did and the dialog box popped up... duh...- instructions do not mention the user id and password for that elusive dialog box is admin/admin- Works only for me if connected via ethernet, does not work wirelessly. Probably have missed a step somewhere but after a week of banging my head against the wall trying to get it work, I am too tired to try any more.Reading the various posts for the past week, I see recommendations for correcting the subnet, subnet masks, etc. I have done that when I had someone to walk me thru the process, not comfortable messing around with network addresses on my own.If you are a network engineer, or one of those folks who understands pinging IP addresses, subnets, subnet masks, etc. then you can probably figure out how to get this device to work. Otherwise, I would NOT recommend this device.-

So glad I bought this! I went from having 1 bar at the back of my apartment to having full signal!

Works fine - you have to reset it often, though (unplug and plug back in). Setup is tricky too.

Have had a very difficult time trying to get this secured so I could use it...

Bought 3 of them, Couldn't get them to work with our router.

This product does an okay job in putting out a strong signal from your own wifi system. The amplifier kept connecting and unconnecting from my original wifi connection. Sometimes it would give a strong signal then it would drop to a fair signal at times.

This item did not allow me to access my internet except right at my front door.
