If need tech don't call Linkswell
No tech support for Amazon buyers, they turn you away and send you to Amazon. they only give tech support to retailers/installers not DIYs like me. No instructions what so ever. that's the bad...The Good... Solid product works at it should. Looks and feels like an OE quality product. There is a YouTube video by a British installer that is pretty good and was key to my install. If you are not tech savvy and or a technician, I would pay to have it installed. Lots of wires and options during install that take automotive and technical knowledge.Quality connection package everything labeled Factory screen connector left unconnected, at least on the 4 inch OE Screen.lastly it does play video while driving so be careful if you are installing in a car that a teen is driving.

STOP - do not buy.
STOP - do not buy. This is a cool idea. But if you wear sunglasses you cannot see screen. So many little problems with this - like DOES NOT WORK WITH GOOGLE MAPS or GOOGLE GO.Thats a big one.if you play mp3s it cuts off first 5 seconds of your song. The climate/ac screen pops up consistently and randomlyTHE AC in your car is always on. every time you start your car you need to SHUT OFF the ac. so stupid.Although has a long way to go to make it functional and useable. It will take a VERY long time to get it set up to make it perfect. Radio stations just keep changing on their own.Do a lot of research on this and the Phoenix radio too. Buy the phoenix.

Nice aftermarket upgrade....a little pricey though
Nice upgrade that has a factory finish. My reservation comes with the software. For the money spent I would have thought this would have a nicer presentation. It takes too long to boot up. The operating software doesn't dazzle, not for the price point. The temperature display reads -50 F all the time and speaking of time it can't keep the same time twice and it's only accurate when manually set. Turn off the car though and it loses the manual setting. Very frustrating. I had one occasion where the radio was dead, screen wouldn't come on but the buttons worked (I could operate start/stop and climate control but the screen was blank and wouldn't turn on at all). I pulled the unit from the dash and all the connections were secure. Put it back in the dash and when I started the car it fired up. Strike one. And noted. Also I play music from my USB flash drive and the stereo cuts off the beginning of the song every time. This is a software issue obviously and one that should be fixed. I know I'm not the only one who has stated this happens as I've read it elsewhere.I want to give a four because it is very nice looking in the dash but I can't due to the way it operates. For the money being charged this should really wow. Especially because it's software. Hire a coder that knows what the hell they are doing and can develop a proper GUI. This one looks sophomoric and should definitely be more customizable. They leave their shortcomings to be fixed by other apps in the Google Play Store as though that should be how to make this command center operate correctly.I haven't rated tech support yet because I haven't had time to use them. I have questions I will be asking like I have a 2017 Mustang GT with aftermarket mapping done on the ignition system, does this install effect my ignition mapping (I have aftermarket maps on my vehicle and I think this install may have wiped my mapping)? It doesn't have the pep it used to. That should show you how much of a command center this thing is, it can have far-reaching effects on your vehicle as it takes over a lot of responsibility. Since it does it needs to have a proper OS and intrinsic software that rivals the OEM operation. If you are going to take so much of the car's operation you had better get it right.Overall the jury is still out on this. It's far too central to the car to leave as many holes as it does. I mean come on it's a radio first and can't properly play songs from a USB flash drive. I mean really guys? Cutting off the start of songs, you are selling an aftermarket stereo. $1300 is a steep price for cut-off songs. Time, temperature readings and tunes are pretty basic. If you can't get those right, what else am I going to find wrong? I've only had it installed for a couple of weeks and it hasn't been spectacular so far. An update could fix these issues I'm certain but even that seems scary to me as that could result in a brick if they don't know what they're doing and so far I'm leaning towards they don't. Maybe they'll surprise me, but given the current state of businesses and suppliers I'm not going to hold my breath. I'd look at a double-din Pioneer if I had it to do over. I've got that in my excursion and absolutely love it. Stereo with an install kit should be about $1100 and from my experience so far wouldn't be a bad choice. We'll see.

Defective Unit
Edit: Cidava customer service contacted me and seemed to be genuinely concerned with the issue I ran into and wanted to remedy. They have sent out a replacement for the unit. Will update again upon installation of the second. I would suggest however to try contacting customer support if you run into an issue as they seemed to be very helpful with trying to help fix the issue. Bumped the review to 3 starts based off customer service received for now.Unfortunately received a defective unit. Upon receipt, I noticed the packaging had once been open but continued. Removed factory unit and installed Linkswell, and spent hours troubleshooting and retrieving replacement fuses, as after testing continuity, I found the fuse in the unit was already blown. Replaced fuse, and got “the magic smoke”.Check the fuse in the unit beforehand! If it’s busted, be cautious. Good luck!
