Magnet in both units
Great product with incredibly strong magnets but.. there are magnets in both units, so in a steel frame dwelling the upper unit will attach to the metal and the system does not work. Fine for timber or concrete block installs…

Great for finding studs in walls too
The magnet in this is incredibly strong. So much so that running it across a stud wall will reveal where the screws are and does a far better job that the budget and pro Bosch stud finder I have.It is also great at drawing wires through a wall.

Works like a charm through insulated plaster walls
I was on the verge of calling in a handyman to do this work, but I saw this and the strong magnets worked like a charm! I now have a way to pull TV cables through the plaster wall without needing to cut open the wall. Much cheaper than getting help!

Good enough
Not useful if plasterboard is double sheeted. Good quality and works well on a single sheet of board

Good idea but not good enough, save your money
I never wright reviews but save your money on this. Not strong enough to pull through single or double board, plus new build walls are made of metal stud and seeing as both parts are magnets all it wants to do is ping over to the metal upright in wall. Cheaper to do the old fashion way of using a length of MT2 lid and fishing it down or over.

Not strong enough
Not strong enough to get through single sheet plasterboard. Catches the screws too.
