Wow! So good and so easy!
This curry mix is spicy but is not "burn your mouth" scorching. I am not a fan of the latter. This is just a bit zippier than the medium version and is very tasty. It is sort of like bullion in that you add the "concentrated flavor cubes" to the pot once everything is cooked and stir for 5 minutes.

The O.G.
It's Golden Curry Black Label. This is getting harder to find in stores as more people opt for the mild stuff. This is the best, superior, original recipe. Hint: add grated tart apple and honey for a next-level experience.

Your friends and family will think you're a Master Chef!
You can't go wrong with this curry mix! So, so yummy! And even though it's "hot," it's not too spicy - just the right amount of heat to give it some kick, as opposed to "burn-my-mouth-so-I-can't-taste-a-freakin'-thing" hot.The directions recommend using 2 1/2 cups of water, but I've found that to be too watery - I only use 2 cups, and then heat it until it's a thick, creamy consistency. Great with onions, carrots, celery, potatoes, broccoli, green peas - whatever veges you have lying around! I usually just throw in whatever I have in the fridge that I need to use up. My husband and I are vegetarian, so I use chickpeas in place of the meat. I'm going to try it with tofu next time, I'm sure it'll be awesome.I used to get this mix at Asian specialty grocery stores, so I was so happy to see the "Subscribe and Save" subscription option for this when I saw it on Amazon (thanks, Amazon) - it's that good! Definitely recommend you try this - you won't be disappointed!

Remembering Japan
My husband was once stationed in Japan and had curry rice off a food truck. He found this shopping and we tried it at home and it was spot on duplicate of what he ate there. Sinced, we've created our own recipe not using rice but a concoction of cubed steak meat, all color chopped bell peppers and onion, cooked to tender in a crock pot, and then we add the curry mix. If its too thick just add water till its a gravy consistency. We serve this over mashed potatoes and its Amazing. Try not to let your eyes get bigger than your stomach!!

Delicious, but not very "hot" at all
A simple, tasty base ingredient for quick Japanese-style curry. Just sautee some onions, carrots, and potatoes before adding water and a few curry cubes to texture/taste. Serve over rice. I think it tastes best with cubed pork or thin-sliced beef, but you can use whatever you like as a protein, or none at all. Just be aware: in spite of the "hot" rating, this hasn't got much heat at all. It's simple enough to add a bit of your own with cayenne pepper, red pepper and/or sriracha.

overall good
The golden curry cubes are true to their flavour. I was suggested this brand by a Japanese friend of mineso I expected it to be authentic. The only small problem was in the product weight. It shows 8.4 Oz however, the packet I received was 7.9 Oz. I had already opened it so I did not send it back. Otherwise, a good product.

Served like a stew with beef & potatoes - best comfort food around in winter
I have been using the S&B Golden Curry mix for many years with great response from dinner guests every time. The hot has enough heat to make it taste awesome and give it a bit of zing, but not so much to make you sweat or tear up. Might still be too hot for kids, but I have never served curry to children, so I don't know. I typically make this with thin slices of beef, carrots and potatoes and serve over rice or noodles in the winter. Absolutely the best, warm up, make you happy, curl up with a good book sort of comfort food. Not diet food, but life is meant to enjoyed.
