EPITAPH 4 Kids Walk Into A Bank TP Paperback – Illustrated, 1 September 1993

One of the few books I’ve finished, then immediately started back at the first page to read again. Beautiful artwork and super compelling storyline. Absolutely loved it.

This was an amazing read.An over the top, stylish and fast flow narrative, that quite resembles a mix between the ramblings and sensation of its characters, which are (obvioulsy) kids, and the feeling of a crazed saturday morning cartoon.Style-First. The decision is made to sometimes skip 'unnecessary' bits here and there, mix fantastic elements with reality, and follow an overall sensation of always moving forward while not asking many questions. This compels in a way as a kid would try and tell the coolest story they could imagine, which I found gave this work its unique vibe and honestly its strongest side.Dialogue also plays with this, as the kids speak on a quirky adult-ish or teeny rebel manner, as if they viewed themselves as cool protagonists while the adults see, well, kids. This makes it sometimes simple or a bit laking, but i still find the overall decision for style, best suited for the story that's being told.Also, I find this, an important element that helps bring the ending of this story a greater feel of surprise and amazement when finished.I definitely say, give it a try and share your thoughts, as this became one of my favorite graphic novels just standing on its commitment for style.Its a cool quick read, with a fun and quirky narrative.

Ho voluto acquistare l'edizione in lingua originale in quanto in questa graphic novel sono molto importanti i dialoghi ed ero un po' spaventato da eventuali scempi fatti in fase di traduzione. L'edizione è perfetta, la copertina è leggermente gommata, morbida, mentre le pagine interne - tutte a colori - sono lucide (ma senza trattenere le impronte).Sull'opera in se nulla da dire, l'ho trovata bellissima sia in fatto di scrittura che di trovate grafiche: i disegni sono ottimi, si adattano perfettamente al racconto e lo completano. La storia è un mix - come già detto in molte recensioni - tra Tarantino a Stranger Things.Assolutamente consigliato!
