Perfect EASY sewing craft for your kids!
This is the perfect craft if it's a rainy day or your kids are bored. I have 2 daughter's ages 5 and 7 and they were both able to do the craft. My 5 year old just needed a bit of extra help. We chose to do the yellow cyclopse first and it took us about 45 minutes. I like that the activity wasn't too short so we have more animals to sew in the future. But, it also wasn't too long. It kept their attention the whole time. The instructions were very simple and clear and my kids loved learning how to sew. Their favorite part was gluing on the face and stuffing it. The pieces were very easy to work with and great quality. Everything was packaged nicely. I would definitely recommend this fun craft and think it would be great for ages 5/6 and up. It's a great way to spend one on one time with your kids :)

Don't bother with the other kits. This one is way better.
We've bought a few of these kits for my 7 year old, this one really stands out. They provide everything you need in plentiful supply. It's the little things that make these crafts fun instead of irritating. Buy this one. Here's why:1) Needles: they provide enough needles that you have one for each color embroidery floss, no need to be constantly rethreading or searching for the one lost needle.2) Glue: they provide *three* little individual fabric glue containers, each with a plug so that the glue doesn't dry out before it even gets to you, or between monsters. No one will sit down and make all these monsters at once, this is super handy for when you pick up your kit a year later and want to start right up from where you were.3) Soft felt: The last kit we bought (Alex) had felt that felt and looked like cardboard. You finished your craft and had a stuffed animal that felt like it'd give you a paper cut on a bad day. These are soft and cuddly.4) Different stitches: If you just use runner stitch the whole time, you end up with a creature that is constantly shedding it's innards through all the gaping holes in it's sides. This kit has tips for how to do starter and finish knots, and where to use different stitches (and how) so that your stuffy stays together after you've spent all that time making it.Get this one and enjoy!

Perfect for beginners; everything included!
This kit is great! It came with everything - precut felt with punched holes; 5 blunted large needles, two needle threaders, 6 colors of thread (more like multi-strand embroidery floss), 3 small tubes of glue (capped under the tip FYI), tiny safety scissors, striaght pins (sharp), mini tomato pin cushion, instructions (not great instructions, but we figured it out), and plenty of stuffing - you don't need to provide anything. (The scissors were too dull to cut the thread easily so we used our own.)Each monster requires two types of stitches & has a unique front to teach front & back and inside & outside when sewing a stuffed item. Each monster was packaged with all its felt bits & individual instructions in its own bag. There are 5 monsters as pictured on the box - 4 stuffed monsters and one non-stuffed wallet/phone case. We've made 3 so far (not the wallet). The monsters are varying difficulties based on shape so you could start with the simplest and progress to harder ones if you wanted to do so. (The green monster pictured was made by an older child who'd never held a needle before; the blue by a more experienced sewer. The red monster & wallet were done the next day by the same kids who did monsters the first day... so they knew exactly what to do.)This is really a perfect first sewing project kit.

Perfect First Sewing Project
My almost 5 year old has been asking to learn to sew, and I thought this would be a good project that could double as his Christmas presents for family. In the first day, he finished one of the monsters and got started on another. He is so excited that he has "real needles," though they are totally dull at the end, so they are safe. He's learned two different stitches, and is already asking to get a second kit when this one is finished. I love that the holes are prepunched, so it's easy to see where to go next. The projects are the perfect size and will make adorable presents for his aunts and uncles.

Well put together sewing kit
I bought this Monster Sewing Kit for my son who is 5 years old and loves to sew. It is a little advanced for his age so I help him with some aspects of sewing the monsters together. The most disappointing thing about this kit is that the glue they provide for the monsters eyes doesn't hold well at all. My son put just enough on to hold the black felt eye in place, and the glue soaked straight through the felt, didn't hold in place and got all over his fingers. We have since switched to our hot glue gun which works much better, but overall this is a great kit and i'm thrilled my son has an interest in these types of hands on activities.

Adorable...
My 7 year old wanted sewing projects to work on with his sister over the summer. This is a really cute kit. It comes with the felt for each monster packaged separately, which makes it nice to grab only the one you want. I am very disappointed in the fact that the instructions are very minimal, especially the fact that this is considered a "beginners" kit. Luckily we have used other kits and somewhat familiar with them. There are a lot of features that require gluing on as opposed to sewing. The extra layers of the eyes and mouth. It seems like those would have been great to get the little fingers learning. My seven year old was able to do a fair amount of the sewing but required a lot of assistance.

Easy and engaging craft
I have a 9 yr old girl and 5 year old boy, both enjoyed this. It came with needles that were large and had rounded tips so that I didn't have to worry about them doing much of this on their own. There are preset holes and only two types of stitches to learn in order to complete this. They really enjoyed learning to sew, which I feel is an important skill- and this project made them want to continue crafts involving sewing, etc. We had a great time. The only downside was the glue... you have to glue on the teeth and eyes... not great quality glue. I ended up tacking them on with some stitches using a regular needle.

Good quality
Often with sewing kits they supply plastic tools, but this was fully equipped with proper needles (rounded so not as sharp) and proper pins. Instructions were good, it does need an adult on hand to help depending on the age of the child. I thought it was very good quality very happy with it and so were my children.
