Our Song: A Steamy Friends to Lovers Rockstar Romance (The Wilder Books Book 1)

I picked up Our Song by Savannah Kade free on Amazon and I am so glad I did because not only did I get a fantastic book, but I’ve found another author to love. There was so much I enjoyed about this book including that it featured two single parents trying to figure out a new normal and leaning on one another and forming a friendship that turns into more even though they refuse to admit it or acknowledge it. I loved the rich plot, the well developed characters, and the slow burn of this endearing and emotional romance.Sometimes you read a book and you know in the first chapter that you’ve stumbled on something fantastically different and wholly engaging and that is exactly how I felt when I began Our Song. I felt for JD, a man who finds himself a father to a 5 year old he knew nothing about, but was trying his hardest to make his daughter feel safe, accept his life has been changed in an instant while working to get his band, Wilder, discovered. While JD felt Kelsey saved him, little did he know that he and his daughter, Andie actually helped her to really begin living her life again. I loved the way their friendship began, how their lives kind of melded into a pseudo family without them even trying, and the way JD and Kelsey helped each other even though JD believed he owed Kelsey more than he could ever repay.With JD’s daughter and Kelsey’s son and daughter there was never a dull moment especially when you add in the other members of Wilder. Through it all JD and Kelsey had their ups and downs, but they never gave up on one another and worked to keep their friendship alive even when they both wanted more but were afraid to admit it.If you enjoy a feel good story packed with lots of emotion, fantastic characters, and a well deserved happily ever after then do yourself a favor and pick up Our Song now.P.S. I loved this book so much, I immediately went and bought the boxed set of all 4 books and I can't wait to dive into the other three!

I just downloaded it for something to read, but this is a beautiful beautiful believable story that catches heart strings.A must read which is best read at leisure.

Kelsey is starting to wonder about her life - never married yet mother to two children. JD is just dazed, wondering how he became a dad out of the blue. Neither is expecting much out of life, having decided to give up their dreams for the little ones for whom they are now responsible. Neighbor Kelsey has the experience JD is lacking and when she steps in to help, little do either of them see what the future hold's for them. But she talks him into getting his band together and making something of his music. She takes JD and Andie under her wing and teaches him how to be a parent, but also stepping up to help when he has to rehearse or play a gig. They dance around each other for what seems like forever until each realizes they are in love with the other. There are some serious communications issues between these two and that has caused some issues. There are a lot of bumps in the road for this little family, but his band mates are pulling for them. Will they make it, or not? Grab a copy, start reading and you won't be disappointed.

I absolutely loved the story that made me both laugh and cry and fall in love with all the characters! I'm almost sad that I'm through and can't wait to read the rest of the series.

While I agree that the story was a little slow paced, and it was a little confusing working out who Andy/Andrew was, it wasn't at all boring. Kelsey and JD were loveable characters and the antics of the kids added an extra dimension to the story. Yes the sex didn't happen till almost the end of the book but at least it wasn't meaningless, one night stand stuff involving a stupidly rich billionaire and a woman with no backbone!.And the previous readers comments about CPS always looking out for kids, well that's naive as there are many examples of kids being completely unprotected by social services/child care systems the world over.I for one, am definitely keen to try other books by this author. Give it a go, you'll hopefully be as pleased as I was that I did.
