Llama Llama Daddy's Day

I rarely write bad reviews but I was beyond disappointed with this llama llama. I have been waiting to figured out what happened to daddy llama, hoping this book would provide some answers. However, this book does not resolve the question. In fact, it is hardly about llama and more about nelly. All that aside, the writing is not great and it is just a summary of an episode that is already on Netflix.

We have a new grandbaby in the house. He is 6 months old and loves rhyming books. The original books are great and keep his attention. These new style of books are more for older children who can grasp a story and lesson. If you want a book for infants, skip to the original ones.

You can definitely tell the difference between the Netflix llama llama books and the originals. The story is ok but it doesn't have the rhyming or cadence of the original books. And it's about Nelly Gnu not Llana llana.

This book doesn’t focus on llama llama, but instead his friend. It’s also much longer and more complex than the original books, which isn’t a positive thing for my 15 month old. It’s too long for her to pay attention to the whole thing and isn’t written in the same way as the originals by Anna Dewdney.
