Thoroughly hooked on this series
This book is even better than the first book in the series. Ted and the other officers are trying to capture a ring of pedophiles whose practices have led to the murder of a small boy. Ted's own history has thrown him into nightmares with which his partner, Trevor, cannot deal. Also, Ted has a new boss -- no longer his old friend, Jim, but a highly efficient woman known as the "Ice Queen." The plot is involved and well presented. The only complaint, if you can call it that in such strong writing, is that the dialogue sometimes seems a bit stilted. However, it is better in this book than in the first. I am thoroughly hooked on this series.

Unique Writing Insight Into A Dark Crime World. A Must read!
This is without doubt an excellent, highly topical, new novel in the DI Ted Darling series (written by L M Krier); "Two little boys" is certainly a detective novel that will raise comments (and eyebrows) and evoke a great deal of interest. What I find very different about the writing style is it projects images of incidents without being incredibly graphic, a trap that many authors fall into - if only to incur a sensationalist reaction. L.M. Krier has the knack of giving the reader a chance to imagine the worst in their own minds, rather than have an explicit graphic scene unveiled to pique the readers interest. She has taken the very sensitive issue of paedophile related crimes, we see a determined force, headed by the wonderfully depicted detective, Ted Darling, do their utmost against political interference, to find the guilty. We are further introduced to the new character of "The Ice Maiden" aka the new female head of the division. Is she the hard-hearted, rule-enforcing, token appointee that we first meet? Another good character added to the team (along with another new female Di Janis). The book explores Ted's own relationship with his partner, Trevor, as it is put under pressure as Ted sinks into dark days investigating the horrific crimes he comes to uncover. The relationship issues are well handled; not only between colleagues but also the effect this chosen career can has on their partners and n the team, Ted is not the only one to suffer.I dare not reveal more, but would encourage anyone with a love of detective novels to plough into this one! (After reading Book 1 first of course). The book should be provided with a warning, however, It cannot be put down. Once started, you are on the trail to the very end. Roll on Book 3 - we need more of this style of thrilling detection. Highly Recommended.

Another superbly crafted psychological thriller
Another superbly crafted psychological thriller, convincingly and uncompromisingly taking the reader on a journey into the corrupt and perverse realities of the world of organised paedophilia. The valiant work of DI Ted Darling and his team enables the reader to maintain faith in human nature as the plot takes one shocking turn after another. The subject matter is explored with deep and sensitive understanding of the nature of trauma and its consequences. We also get to know Ted, the people around him, and his 'patch' better, and all are well worth getting to know. In every respect this is a book that is very hard to put down.
