Sunday Afternoons Women's Latitude Hat

I love this hat. I wear it everyday walking around the city, and I also wear it on hikes. It meets my criteria!A. Blocks sun well - YesB. Stiff brim that won’t flop in wind - YesC. Wide brim to shield from the sun - YesD. Folds to fit in a bag - YES! Love this feature!E. Chin strap - YesF. Looks decent on me - Yes (It looks pretty good, which to me is a win for such a utilitarian hat!)G. Fits a small head - Sort of(It’s a bit loose even after I tighten the strap around the circumference of my head. But I just tighten the chinstrap tight to make up for the loose fit.)Downsides:It says to hand wash only. With how wide and stiff the brim is that makes sense…wouldn’t want the washer to bend it. But I still wish I could throw it in the wash. Mine is already looking a little dirty after weeks of continuous wear. I hope it comes clean easily enough.Biggest downside is the placement of the chin strap. It connects in front of my ears rather than behind like most hats. This means that if a big gust of wind comes from behind me, it can blow the hat right off my head! This happened to me the first day I was wearing the hat! I had the chin strap tightened as much as I could without hurting myself, and still the hat blew off. My hands were full and I almost lost it. Luckily I was able to retrieve it. The brim is wide, which means it catches strong wind pretty readily. Now I tether the bottom of the chin strap to my jacket every time I wear it, for peace of mind.

Sunday afternoons probably makes some of the best hats for hiking. They fold nicely and keep the sun out of your face. This was for my wife and she wears it all almost all our summer adventures. Lightweight and matches the style of my hat.

This hat is wonderful. The brim is very sturdy and wide. I like being able to fold it up.

The hat was true to size using the sizing chart even though it does have a way to adjust the tightness. The hat also seems to be of good quality and I assume it will block the sun better due to the wider brim.I only took one star away, but the problem is with Amazon Packing and Shipping. The hat has a natural fold built in so it can easily be packed in a suitcase or drawer. Amazon did not fold and ship it along the natural fold. It was folded and creased in another portion of the brim. I hope to be able to remove the damage they have caused since I really do like the hat and need it for an upcoming trip for sun protection.I did notice that other buyers had similar issues with the packing and shipping. Hopefully Amazon will take notice and solve the problem for future purchases. Since I really like the hat I may like to purchase other items this company sells. I will most likely buy directly from them rather than through Amazon. They were very nice and helpful when I contacted them about the bent brim…and also said they get a lot of complaints from Amazon customers.

I purchased this hat as a backup for my original Latitude hat, because although the first hat is still going strong, I never want to be without one. This hat is my best outdoor friend from spring through fall. It keeps my head and neck sheltered from the sun, shields my eyes from glare, and protects me from wayward branches and leaping insects. It is extremely sturdy, lightweight and vented to help keep one’s head cool. It washes up beautifully and due to the quality materials and sturdy stitching, holds up wonderfully well and is worth every penny. In a day and age where quality design and manufacture is often lacking, Sundays is a standout for their marvelous, well-made hats!

My wife bought one for me after raving about hers. I was a bit skeptical, frankly, because it is so large compared to my usual "trucker" hat. But now I am a believer! The hat really does provide protection for the face as well as the often forgotten nape of the neck. What is a surprise is that I actually see better with this hat. The front brim is shaped to actually provide a bigger field of vision. It fits well and the attached cord keeps it on in wind. The hat is foldable, has good venting and a high UPF rating, and even has places to stash keys or IDs. This is the best sun hat I have had.

The hat initially met or exceeded all my expectations, and I would have given it 5 stars. I bought it in June 2022 and am now seeing some bad wear and tear on the rim, close to the folding point. This is extremely disappointing, and lowers my rating to 1 or 2 stars..
