These weren't for me, but RDX made sure I was a happy camper at the end of the day!
Ok, so to start off with my story with RDX, I had purchased some RDX cowhide leather MMA gloves and they are just fantastic! I really liked them, and after putting them through their paces, about a month in I have no complaints at all as they continue to break in and really impress me and those at my gym. Now, with that experience with RDX, I really thought that these would absolutely deliver! However, there were two things that I disliked (One was my fault, one was something I believe was more on the workmanship of the product)First, I went to the sizing guide and ordered a Large based on my specs, which I will include belowShin 15.5 inchesInstep 8 inchesCalves just over 19 inches (There was no measurement for calves, that is just a point of reference)The Large was just far too small for someone with my specs. The top strap of the calves probably only bite down about an inch, I knew they weren't going to last long with just that much bite. The second issue was there were some parts on the instep where the stitching seemed to really miss the mark around the pad below it. Now, if these had fit fine, I probably would have just rocked with it and not worried much, but that in addition to the overall feel of the units just seemed to miss the mark as far as the quality I had expected. Definitely a night and day difference between these and the gloves I had gotten from RDX.Now, to close out my story, I had written RDX (or the vendor here) about my concerns and they were VERY prompt to do whatever I wanted to either get a refund or an exchange. I opted for the refund and ordered some Top King shin guards directly from Thailand and those things are amazing. I would highly recommend those, especially for someone around my size. However, the folks at RDX did an excellent job and were very punctual about getting me taken care of.EDIT: 4/17 The Folks at RDX had reached out to me as they had updated the version of this particular model and wanted to send them to me free of charge. As happy as I was about that, since I had already picked up another pair, they offered me store credit for the original item AFTER already giving me a prompt refund. These guys went above and beyond to ensure I was very happy. My RDX gloves are still going strong after a year and looking great, and I am sure now that these have been revised you will find similar quality. Thus, my experience with them is updated to 5 stars. Very happy the folks at RDX went above and beyond even when they didnt have to.

Lackluster; Lacking in Padding & Stability. Recommend Looking Elsewhere
--- UPDATED REVIEW ---To be honest, being new Muay Thai and therefore ignorant as to the proper or best gear, I purchased these shin guards completely based on look and price. However, as a bit of experience has taught me, these shin guards were a complete was of money. Let me break down the CONS:1). There is a gap in padding between the shin and instep portions of the shin guard (where the vertical portion meets the horizontal - or where the foot meets the leg). As a result, it is possible to take or deliver an unprotected blow that may sting a bit and/or cause injury - not good during training.2). The padding has little to no density, therefore blocks, kicks, or checks can be felt.3). These shin guard LACK stability. Throughout training, they will move and require constant readjustment. To that point, don't dare consider wearing these for sparring and/or competition. It is likely you will regret that decision.I have since purchased Top King shin guards and the contrast of the two couldn't be more obvious. Given my happiness with my replacement shin guards, I donated these to my gym, for the use by either new comers or the more seasoned students whom may have left their guards home. Unfortunately, the same issues I encountered was even more pronounced as others at the gym complained of the same or similar shortcomings, despite build and skill level. My recommendation - LOOK ELSEWHERE! When it comes to protective gear, do not make the same mistake I made. Purchase not for cosmetic or budgetary reasons, instead stick to the top manufacturers - Fairtex, Top King, Twins Special, to name a few.--- ORIGINAL REVIEW ---Comfortable but lacking in padding density. During training, I threw a few roundhouse kicks which were blocked by elbows. I felt each block quite a bit.

Feel nice, but starting to wear
These fit nice and feel light. I prefer how they fit over my Top Kings, but I don't think they are build as tough as the Top Kings. After 6 months of less-than-average use (use mostly my Top Kings), there is more wear and tear to the surface than I would expect.Downgrading this to 3 stars. The vinyl coating along the edges is starting to peel off. These look really worn down. Like I said, my Top Kings get way more use and they look much better -- almost new looking. Interesting enough I am having this same issue with my RDX MMA gloves. (the peeling).

These are the first guards I've found that protect my shins properly
I just tested for black belt in September, in Shaolin Kempo style, where we do some sparring almost weekly. I'd tried other shin guards and kept getting badly painfully notched shins. The last was caused by a downward elbow block and has hurt my whole lower leg for 3 months now. These are the first guards I've found that protect my shins properly and they are great. My only disappointment is that I have long feet and these guards in XL don't get past the upper slots of my toes. I'm still very grateful for the shin protection, but nervous about the toes.

Do not slip and slide while sparring
I just used them today for the first time in sparring and they are very comfortable on top on the foot and when checking kicks they don't slide around everywhere they fit nice way better than my last pair which I got at the gym, DO NOT USE THESE FOR HEAVY BAG USE, I was taught only use shin guards for sparring and we spar at a decent pace and they held up extremely well, when using the bag it's best with no shin guard because it's best to condition them, if they start to mess up after a couple more uses I will come back and let you guys know. So far so good

Kick. POW! Legit shin guards for those who actually spar and fight!
So good. The only fit system is perfect for Muay Thai. So good I bought a second pair for my teammate. Good foot coverage and up to the knee. Ur not so big that it is a pain to lug them attached to my bag. Real deal. Super high quality

decent shin guards
good strong padding, i've taken quite a few heavy kicks to them and felt nothing through the pad - - what more can you ask of them...strong leather coating, less likely to tear, even during heavy usage.i got the XL sized pair, for this size it might be better if the shin part was maybe another 2inch longer - - just a thought...the inside of the pad is a saten type material, so will allow a little sweat to soak through, a waterproof material may have been a better choice - - only time will tell of prolonged use and washability (it's a real word now!!).the straps are a little fiddley at first, as they loop through a buckle at one side before the velcro fastens down - - this does make for a strong fastening, and i've not had the pads slip at all during training. whereas other shin guards using elasticated straps had to constantly be re-adjusted after a decent knock.rdx equipment are proving themselves to be a fine brand for kickboxing/mma. they are excellent value for the high quality. i just hope they don't raise prices as the brand becomes more popular.

Avoid at all cost!!! Cheap product and worse seller.
I bought these guards from b2fitness, a seller I would not recommend if you prefer to buy from professional and honest sellers. But that's another story. The pads are cheaply made, offer only little to no protection on the sides of the shin. Protection that is needed if you are not quick enough blocking a kick. Overall these guards feel very plasticy. Definitely not for Muay Thai.I spent just a tenner more and got me some venums. And they are worlds apart when it comes to quality. The RDX are just terrible.

Great Fit, Great Protection, Great Value For Money
During peak months, I'll train Muay Thai three-four times a week, and these are a staple part of the kit needed. They are sturdy, fit well, and provide good protection to my shins, instep and feet. One problem I've found with other brands is that the bottom elastic strap that fits around the back of your ankle always tends to snap when you're pushing your foot through the gap. Not on these bad boys. Everything seems sturdy and well produced, and they're fantastic value for money. They're not as protective as say a pair of Sandee's, but they're like mini armourplates on your shins. So, after checking for a prolonged time you may start to feel the kicks. However, they're lightweight, and padded enough to protect you in most instances. I couldn't recommend them enough.

Rdx shin guards
First pair I've ever purchased and I'm confident I've made a great choice.Good fit, didn't slip at all whilst training and they offered the protection I was looking for.I'm pretty sure these are built to last.

Very good product. Great padding. Awesome design. Straps slightly short.
Great product. Very well made with good padding that absorb the hit well. The design is great, and will hold well even after extensive use. Only small downside it that the straps are slightly smaller than needed. I have somewhat bigger calves and they don't wrap around perfectly. And extra 2-3 cm would have been perfect. Overall I am pleased with them though.
