J. K. Lasser's Your Income Tax 2022: For Preparing Your 2021 Tax Return

I am a CPA. For the money you cannot beat this publication as a non tax professional. Our office uses the very expensive tax research publications which cost thousand of dollars a year. But for the average person JK Lasser is fine.

Just purchased the JK Lasser Your Income Tax 2022. I'm unable to locate and download the free "e-supplement to your income tax 2022" that's offered on the inside pages. I tried to call Customer Care at Wiley's but unsuccessful in getting to an area for help. A Google search showed up the download links but the one for "2022" isn't available (it's to prepare tax year 2021). The most current e-link is for "2021" or tax year 2020. Otherwise, I'm satisfied with the book itself which we've been buying for over 20 years.

I've been using JKL since 2010 as a quick reference in my CPA practice. Clients call with questions. I look up the relevant pages in JKL, make copies and email to my clients. No, JKL is not a primary resource since I have full blown tax library services; however, for a quick answer to a client's question or a quick overview, JKL has been outstanding.

There are many books and aids on correctly filing your federal income tax. This one is the best, by far. It takes the taxpayers point of view. There are many grey areas of the tax law. The code itself is very large, and it is likely that one one knows all of it. Read this book and you will be correctly informed about the law and what is the most efficient as well as being correct.

I've been doing taxes since back in the 1980"s. As we all know the laws keep changing. This book helpsme to stay current with the changes. You don't need to be a tax preparer to understand this book.

To be honest I haven'"t even looked at this year's edition yet but I've been buying "JK Lasser's Your Income Tax" for many years. Any questions I might have I can find the answers to. Even with using the most popular income tax software, there are always some things I question or don't quite understand what they're doing. I should say, I do the "long form" tax return. I feel confident I'm getting it right when I've referred to JKL for a full explanation when necessary.

Can be difficult to track down the answer to one specific topic. Serves to remind one that our tax code is out of control.

Owning a tax business, we have purchased this book for many years, and the only thing I think they need to improve is to put some chapter tabs on it to make topics easier to flip too.

I was wanting a similar book for Canada but i was disappointed to know this is for USA. I'm mad.

I have used J K Lasser's for many years to answer questions about line items on my tax return. Because of my long history with this resource I remain a loyal fan.
