Okay not sure on durability
After getting an air con unit I decided to get one of these kits to help stop warm air circulating back into the room from the exhaust pipe.I picked this product as it was only one that seemed to aknolwedge the existence of outward opening windows. Some gripes:There is nothing in the description that describes how to pick the right size. I literally had to go and read a different product description to understand what I was measuring and which size to buy. For anyone else in this scenario you need to measure your windows top, left, bottom and right then add these sizes together, the total of all 4 measurements is the size you need to buy although mine seems about 15cm short all round which means I've had to plug this hole with a plastic bag.The description also fails to mention you should fit this on outward opening windows from OUTSIDE which is a problem for an upstairs window. I had to get creative.Despite cleaning the windows first, the velcro has already detached in several places.Overall I do feel this has made a small difference but some common sense is needed to update the description if the seller expects more people to buy it. I don't think its very durable and I'm worried the sticky will wear out after a few weeks but it's a relatively cheap solution.

It’s ok
It’s alright, not brilliant, but for the money I expected better, it’s will cool down and a box room but nothing more. It’s very loud, sounds like a tractor.

Good
It does what it’s supposed to. Would be better if it could be cut to fit.

Works well, great quality and has decreased my air conditioner usage!
The top of our house is essentially a loft conversion so you can imagine the heat in the summer being in the roof! We invested in an air conditioner, but it was one where tubing has to be hung outside your window, we have indoor cats so this can be a bit of nightmare with them trying to escape if you haven’t shut the window on the tubing enough. This looked like a fantastic way to solve our issues with the cats, but also when it is hot, the best way to cool the house is to not open your windows and let the hot air in, but before I ordered this, this was impossible so we was probably wasting a lot of electricity with the air conditioner working overtime. The seal feels really good quality, when it arrives it looks a little intimidating to put up, but it is actually really simple, simply measure out the velcro strips, stick them on and put up the seal. Anyone that has put up mosquito nets on their windows will manage to put this up fine as this is very similar.Once the seal is up, there is a zip that allows any size pipe to be used with this seal which is great, our piping fit perfectly, we actually got a soft pipe extender so that we could form a tighter seal around the pipe to ensure that we have the best seal.We have noticed a huge difference, not only can the cats not get stuck on the roof, but we actually have noticed a significant drop in the amount of time we need to run the air conditioner which means we will be saving a decent amount on our electric bills so I am really happy!

Fiddly to mount but it works - Not suitable for all windows
It works well enough once fitted and does not look terrible. However, to be frank it is a bit fiddly to mount, and that should be considered.Essentially there are two sides, which are joined by a zipper, allowing to leave a gap for the air conditioner pipe. The two sides have velcro on. A pretty long strip of adhesive velcro is provided. which needs to be attached to the window's frame and the sides of the window itself. Therefore it can be removed and refitted relatively easily once the velcro is installed. However, because the velcro needs to run around the frame and the window, the handle might well be in the way (with most windows at least). So the instructions suggest fitting it on the outside of the window. So, not suitable for all windows and flats. Ground floor should be fine if the ouside of the window is reachable. Maybe even first floor with a ladder. The alternative is to mount it inside, but the handle might be in the way.The price is pretty good I think, at £16. Just the materials to cobble up something similar would not cost much less, plus the time.

Mediocre window seal
This window seal is affordable and is flexible in terms of the different windows you can use it with as well as whereabouts you want your air conditioner exhaust to be. I currently use a PVC window attachment for my air conditioner exhaust, which although it works well, unlike this solution, it doesn't seal the top and bottom of the open window. However, this product from MATANA is not really a great solution, it feels a too much like an ater thought. The zip down the middle has two zippers and they are to be zipped up to the exhaust tube. In practice though this isn't a particularly elegant or secure solution. So whilst it seals the side, top and bottom of the open window, the closure around the exhaust tube is less than ideal.

This does the job it’s intended for
This is designed for air conditioning pipes to help seal the window and keep the cold air in. It does create a good seal. I have my window open most of the time because I have 4 cats, so this also works to keep most of the draft out while still allowing the cats access. My lounge is no longer freezing cold in the mornings so if it can keep cold out I can imagine it works well for air con. It’s rather long but easily attaches with Velcro. There is plenty of Velcro tape for the whole window.
