Not soft at the start but gradually softens
Didn't understand how metal softness is a question, I now do. The screw opens and distorts the the holder becoming loose over time. Nice Matt black, roll holder a bit longer than necessary.

I bought these units for my summer house overseas. I am having problems with tiny screw in the back of towel holder. I wonder if seller can agree to exchange for same unit??
