Comb is very high quality, and works very well. Not too bulky, but still feels good and sturdy in the hand. Smells good, no chemical smells, just the natural wood. Would recommend.

I have very porous hair. It has taken a decade to grow it to my waist because the open keratin scales catch on each other; so I have to be extra careful with every step of care: sleeping (satin-lined cap), every day (oils), and washing (pre-poo, good products, and ph-lowering rinses). I also use smooth, wooden hair combs and boar bristle brushes to avoid breakage.This comb is a dream to use!The tapered ends separate hair kindly and effectively. The teeth are smooth; there is no jagged edge like in a plastic comb, which has one along both sides of every tooth where the mold separates during production. This one thing is so insidiously bad, as we don't think about it. Look at any plastic comb. Each tooth has a jagged edge where your hair pulls through in between two of them. This damages hair.More, the tapered ends allow for a very smooth entry into hair. I like this, because much of my hair is 30 inches long. I start at the ends and work my way up, and with this comb, I can comb my hair from scalp to ends with no pull. With other blunt wooden combs, I have had to press a comb to enter my hair. This ease allows me to pull the oils on my scalp down the hair shaft.I will use this comb from now on for all these reasons.If you have never used a good wood comb, and you have long hair, or your hair is porous or coarse, give this comb a try.P.S. I use food-grade linseed oil or marula oil to condition all my wood combs after cleaning. This comb is so well made that I don't need to condition it as often, as the wood is so compact and smooth. Really happy with the price, look, quality, and smell of this comb. The case, though nice and competent, is not actual leather; but, at this price I didn't expect anything other than the comb itself. So, I'm not upset about that.

The comb is very well made with a good, understated design and simple but elegant proportions. The upper portion is a separate piece of sandalwood that was tongue and grooved into the bottom portion. This allows the grain to run both parallel to the shaft and parallel to the teeth for added strength. The leather sleeve is also simple but effective without any silly frills. It’s a very high quality product especially for the price. I wish more products were made like this.

Sturdy comb, but gentle on the hair. Most combs, particularly the teeth on the comb, since they’re usually made of plastic, have a seam down the sides of the teeth. Those seams can catch the hair, and also add extra friction. With a wooden comb, you don’t have that problem so your hair will be, in the long term, in better condition. This comb is worth your while, and as a side note - as a barber, I recommend it.

I have very fine hair, so when I use a plastic comb, it gets very staticy and floats. So the best part of this comb is the lack of static build up. When I first got it, the smell was pretty strong, but not bad, after a couple months I hardly notice it any more. The tines aren't as finely spaced as some combs, but I doubt you can go much finer without it simply breaking. It is nicely sanded so there are no burs or other sharp bits to hurt your scalp, and it feels really nice in the hand.
