HORRIBLE - DO NOT BUY - DOES NOT WORK
This does NOT work and cannot be adjusted to work, despite the little key that comes with it and what the directions say. The key is presumably used to adjust screws on the side, but the key bends and nothing changes when adjustments are made. THIS PRODUCT IS WORTHLESS. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY.

Works fine. Not the best quality though
I almost returned this because I thought it didn't work. After reboxing it and starting a return I realized the line will be facing you so while you may think it's backwards it's not. The letter facing you is the direction the other side of the compass is facing. Its pretty cheaply made though but you get what you pay for.

No where does it state that its a "Directional reading" compass!
This should be clearly stated. I do NOT like directional reading compasses, as it creates a high level of error when doing calculations or transferring the data to others, or simply wanting to know how normal compasses are read. This just doesnt make simple logic sense. You can argue the other way around, I get it. But that is not how compass readings were taught, and I am NOT about to change how I read them.Also, the light requires connection to a power source. With LED lights being so efficient, and with these mounted on a dash or a boat with all the sun power, how hard would it be to create a capacitor or small batter to power the 0.2watt light ?!! I searched for a solar lighted compass after realizing that this can only power with a battery source...SHOCKING! there are NONE to be found!So these are likely old tech old stock. Is it just Amazon that doesnt carry them, or maybe I should try the general web?!Otherwise this is a bit on the large side, but almost perfect in size. I was willing to keep it for the size, as it could mount on my dash with the vertical position mount behind my steering wheel. And I got the white one.I was also willing to wire it to get the light working. The listing does NOT even mention the color of the light, or a picture of it. WTListing is this?
