A Terrific Value
OK... it is a 'Five Star' rating in part because give me a break... a wireless cycling computer with calorie count and thermometer for around 16 bucks? That has to count for something. So the not-great stuff first... it has three menus of stuff to select from as far as the display goes and what you get on each screen is what you get. You can't customize the lines of data that get displayed. So for example, I would like the speedometer with the thermometer, but I can't get that. Instead, if I want to know the temperature I have to toggle through the second screen to the third screen to read that. That screen displays 'Maximum Speed' in place of your current speed, which is pretty useless for me... it might be nice to know after a ride what your fastest speed was... it just isn't anything I need to know on an ongoing basis. Secondly, the instruction sheet is very detailed, very involved, not super-well-written and a bit confusing. When you're setting up various lines of display, you're not always sure what it is the line you're working on represents... if you start reading the instructions, you'll eventually figure it out... but by then it has timed-out of the set up mode and you have to start over again. Third, you can't cram in lots of lines of data in a unit this small without the font being on the small side. Again, it isn't the unit's fault that the lines are as small as they are, but it can be annoying. Good stuff... the back light feature works well. There are a number of different settings, but I haven't set up anything different from what it came with and you push 'Mode' at night to get a good 3 seconds of light. And it does light up the whole display despite originating on the left side of the unit. The thermometer works! I used to have a 'puter by Planet Bike that was a wired unit that I bought specifically for the thermometer and it was terrible. I'd leave my house on a day I knew was in the 30's and it would read 74 degrees or some-such and by the time I got to work some 25 minutes later it would read like 56 degrees. This one seems to work well and in the moment... you can program Celsius or Fahrenheit... also kilometers or miles for the other measured settings. Set up is straight forward and easy. Honestly, all the sturm und drang people are raving about in the reviews has me flummoxed. I mounted mine on the left side of the bike, made sure the magnet was centered on the wheel sensor, turned it on and it had a pulse right away. A tip: I didn't have to do this because the magnet on this unit is pretty strong... but you can buy the tiniest of the neodymium magnets and attach one or two to the wheel magnet to increase its strength and range. Then you won't have to adjust the distance to the sensor to within a micron of its life. The dimensions for these craft magnets are like 2 mm diameter and 1 mm thick. Accuracy of the speedometer... yeah, I'm not sure. It seems accurate based on how far away a destination is and the trip distance, which seems to correlate well. The instructions do give you some common measurements for different diameter wheels... it doesn't have 700 x 25c however and so I can't see how well my measured / calculated circumference 'stacks up' with their estimate. The calorie count feature keys off your mass in kilograms with one pound = about 2.2 kilograms. Personally, I think any and all calorie count features are pretty worthless. How fast you're going and therefore how many calories you're burning just has too many variables to account for. Durability, water resistance, battery life, etc. are all unknowns at this point. If these wind up being 'bad' I'll post updates.

Nice Bike Computer At A Reasonable Price
I used my own heavy weight black zip ties as others ended up using. I want to make sure the computer stays mounted and the sensor fixed in place when riding over rough terrain. The Bike Computer is quit nice in features. It doesn't have cadence but does have RPM which can be used to set and maintain a given pace. The setup is a bit tricky as you cycle through the different settings and if you accidentally push the advance button before you should have then you must start at the first setting and go through each one a second time. Not a deal breaker. Mounting of the pickup and magnet was straightforward and the spacing is more generous then competing units in this price range. I would have given 5 stars were it not for the fact I needed to use my own zip ties. As for accuracy I haven't ridden next to a car or another biker to determine if the speed is correct for the circumference I entered. TIP: I have Specialized Nimbus Sport, 650B x 2.3" big tires so to determine the circumference I applied black electrical tape to the outer circumference of the tire then rolled the bike forward until the tape ends met. I removed the tape from the tire and measured in inches (if you can't measure in metric units) then used an inch to millimeter website to determine the exact millimeters to enter into the unit. I would recommend this unit if you want features in an affordable Bike Computer.

Three strikes…..OUT!
The instructions set the stage….they are of little value and conclude a troubleshooting paragraph with “reinstall it correctly”The tiny zip ties were the second clue as to the viability of this product. They are a fastener solution, but not THE solution. The head mount and the pickup mount both had play at the max tightness of the tiny zip ties. The speedometer and odometer failed to register. I had the time, date, and temperature but no really useful information.Bottomline is that this is an unsatisfactory product not worthy of the time to order and return.

Instructions Could Be Much Better
This is an update to my previous review on this item and I am down grading it to only 3 start. 2 weeks after I bought it the computer stopped working. I was pretty sure it was a battery issue since it worked at first and I haven't dropped or crashed my bike. I was out on my first long ride since I bought and installed the computer on my bike and suddenly the computer stopped reporting speed, distance, ride time, etc. The head unit worked fine with the time and temp still displaying so I stopped and checked the magnet alignment which "looked" fine so I figured the batter in the sender stopped working. I got home and had to cut the zip ties that home the sender on my fork so I could get to the battery. I got busy over the weekend and only just today got a new battery (CR2032) for the sending unit. I put it in and ran the magnet by the sending unit a few times to see if it was working and it was. I put the sending unit back on the fork and nothing?? I tried re-positioning it a few times and still nothing so I got out the cough, cough "instructions" which were really not much help at all. After working with it for 30 minutes I finally got it working and the "instructions" were no help at all. It took some trail and error for me to get it right but it is working now and I have a feeling the battery was not bad at all it was the poor "instructions" that lead me astray. If anyone else buys this computer don't go by the "instructions" they will be of little help. On the sending unit on the side of the unit opposite of the battery door there are 2 marks about 3/4" apart. The magnet has to be lined up with the lower of the 2 marks for the computer to work properly and this was not mentioned at all in the "instructions" The "instructions" lead a person to line the magnet up in the center of the 2 marks and that will not work so be forewarned if you buy this computer. The "instructions" could stand to be a lot better!

The instruction for the operation of the device is not very clear.
I like to have the device on my bike for records on my performance. Buying such things must carry with it clear messages on the installation and operations of the device. If this becomes blurry then the purchaser will not be able to use it and feel unsafe to purchase such items over the online portals.

The display is easy to read and buttons are user-friendly
Work flawlessly. Just don't enter the tyre circumference values that are given in the manual as they are totally off. Instead, measure the circumference manually and enter. The display is easy to read and buttons are user-friendly. The backlight is very useful for night riding. The unit fits more securely on the handlebar than on the stem.
