Awesome duster for the price.
This duster is a good value for the price. I read many reviews saying that the duster ran large for a person's normal size. This is true. I am 6'3" and weight 200 pounds. Normally, I wear large sized shirts, sweatshirts, and coats. A 42L suit coat runs just a tad large for me in the shoulders. I looked at the size chart and ordered a small. It was a good choice because the duster fit me perfectly in the shoulders. The sleeves were plenty long as well. There is still room in the chest and waist for mobility. It is not tight on me at all. I highly recommend this duster.

Get A Size Smaller
The long coat is well made. There is no interior lining or material for warmth. It is bare canvas on the inside. It only has two pockets. The two outside pockets. No interior pockets. The two outside pockets are large. The jacket ends at about 4 inches above my ankles. When buying, you want to purchase a jacket that is 1 size smaller than your normal jacket size. I am 6'0" and 170lbs. Slim waist and broad shoulders. I purchased the coat in a small. It is not tight on me and still has room underneath for layers underneath. A medium would have fit me like a tent. Way too large. Am I able to wear layers underneath the size small range coat? Is there room? Definitely. Perhaps even a bulky sweater over a lumberjack shirt and thermal undershirt. The sleeves were about 3 inches too long, but I turned up the dark brown cuffs to accommodate the length of the arms. It is not going to fit like a $800 wool business suit that is made with 40 R or 40 L or 40 S and tailor fitted. It is a cowboy range coat.So if you want it to fit to your body contours and not look like something that is way too large for your frame. Consider the size you are purchasing. I purchased the jacket in walnut with dark brown collar and cuffs.

Good Lookin', Not Waterproof, Fits Big
This coat is so good lookin' it gets 4 stars in spite of its flaws.Nice thick cotton canvas. It's not the least bit waterproof though. I was soaked through by the end of the ride. I'm not exactly sure what these things are for. Maybe just to look like a cowboy?Runs big. I bought the large and it still fits a little big. For reference, I'm 6'6" 255 lbs and wearing a warm chore coat underneath in the picture. It's going to get dirty. I picked up saddle oil stain, blue jean die, mud, and some other red die on this very wet and muddy ride. That being said, with some stain pre treatment, most of the stains came out.I'm thinking of waxing the coat with bee's wax, paraffin, and linseed oil for stain and water resistance, but like I said, it's good lookin' and I don't want to mess that up. The problem is, if it's just a trophy coat, I haven't got a lot of use for it. If someone can tell me the utility, I'll not mess with it

Going down a size worked for me, I love this duster!
Happy to write this review- it's exactly what i wanted authentic looks and not too heavy or bulky.I'm 5'10 200lbs 34 waist 42-44r chest, athletic build. I'm a snug medium in almost everything- shirts, jackets, hats, motorcycle helmets-occasionally a large if its a tight fitting style item. I read the reviews and went down to a small and this duster fits perfectly for me over a long sleeve Wrangler shirt and leather vest. I'm using it on stage for performing arts so can't attest to whether it's water proof or how strong the buttons are ( I wont be buttoning it)-but they look adequate to me- sorta like a rugged army jacket quality in a good way. It is one layer denim feeling material- this is the Walnut brown color. Corduroy collar and cuffs- I did have to fold the cuffs in half to shorten the length but since I'm not wearing gloves I figured I would need to anyway. Looks great, came folded nicely, buttoned up, with no wrinkles or hard creases, no odors and the leg straps inside are a nice touch for horseback riding. If you are super fussy, the button holes on mine could be cleaned up with a few scissor snips of extra strands of material on some of the holes. I recommend this for your wild west looks!

This thing is great.
I wear this when riding fence or working animales in the rain. Or when it's cold and super windy. Great for keeping dry in the rain and stops the wind in its tracks. This combined with my stetson and gloves keeps me dry and warm in 40 or below with rain. At first glance you wouldn't think it works well but it does. I don't just wear this but it's a fantastic outer layer. Traditional set up so unscrewing the black allows it to keep my legs dry while sitting on my mare. Tough material and EASY to wash. However the only down side is the sizes run long in the arms and length I ordered my size and without rolling the cuffs up they ingulf my hands and almost to long when walking. But with a little use you get use to it. I love this product.

Fits well, buy it small, seams could be cleaner.
It's a nice duster and I'll wear it most of the year in Texas weather, except summers. The seams were off a bit in a few places with some poor attention to detail. Some of the button holes needed to be cleaned up and were frayed. It doesn't stop the use of the duster but over time it will be weak in these areas. The fit was really well but this is because I read in advance to order a size smaller. I'm 6'4" 235 and a large fit really well. The sleeves were a bit short but at my size, almost everything is short. That said the cuffs are folded in and can be unfolded for a bit of fine tuning on the length. The cloth on the cuffs and neck seem off putting at first but they are a little softer than the canvas so it makes for a nice feel making the overall comfort better. It's a single layer so it's lighter than you'd expect. It shouldn't need to be said but if you've never had a duster the split in back goes all the way up to your bum and doesn't close. This is the design and not a flaw, just expect it when you order it. It makes for a good coat for most of the year.
