Awesome book
I have always loved Nancy Drew from when I was in 2nd grade. I read all the Hardy Boys books too, and than when they were combined, I was so excited. This book has so much fun excitement and unexpected twists and turns that it'll keep you on the edge of your seat!

An embarrasing first for Nancy and the boys
Well, how to put this.... I am a fan of both Nancy Drew and the Hardy Boys, and have been a collector for over 40 years. I have seen changes in the characters over the years, but this is the first time that Nancy Drew and Joe Hardy actually utted the "D" word. (Joe used it one time that I noticed, and Nancy Drew used it twice). This is particularly disturbing to me. On various message boards, I see that Simon and Schuster claimed it was an editorial slip, and the swear words would be removed in the next printing. I still think that such an error shouldn't have happened in the first place. How did the editorial department miss this? The book isn't even two hundred pages long. How hard is it to proof read a manuscript of that length? Also, why are the ghostwriters using these words in the first place? I get the impression that both the writers and publisher of Nancy Drew and The Hardy Boys don't really care about the legacy of these series, and just pump these new books out without a care about quality. Gotta make that extra buck, right?.....Too bad this had to happen on Nancy's 80th anniversary year. My advice to future ghostwriters.....don't write the books if you don't care about the Hardy Boys and Nancy Drew. If writing this series is just another paycheck to you, please write something else. As for Simon & Schuster....remember that the Stratemeyer Syndicate created these characters. In 1979, Stratemeyer chose you to publish the series over Grosset & Dunlap. Please take the responsibility to protect the legacy of these characters. Their future is in your hands.
