UPDATE: Jan 18, 2017 - What has taken me a long time to finally realize is that this light lacks an on/off switch. It would have been easy for the company to put a switch on the light itself or if not on the light, the cord leading to the light. It is extremely inconvenient to have to lift the light up and unplug the power cord every time you want to turn it off. And of course you have to plug it back in to turn it on. It's a lovely light but the lack of switch has caused me to lower my rating another star.This is a review of the Himalayan Natural Salt Lamp. I received a free sample for review.Not everyone will appreciate this light, but I happen to think it is beautiful and unique. It is basically a large square chunk of salt that has a very interesting series of veins running through it of various darknesses. 3 groups of LED's shine brightly through the chunk of salt, thus heating the salt which in turn throws off negative ions with purported health benefits. I can't speak to the supposed health benefits, but I can definitely speak about the beautiful look of this simple, yet so intriguing salt lamp.The chunk of salt has a hole bored into its bottom. This hole sits over the LED light module which itself is screwed into the plastic base of the lamp. It is powered by a 12V power adapter.My issue with the light and the reason I've only given it 4 stars, is because the light is very bright and it does not have a dimming capability. If this light had a dimming capability, It would be perfect.Also included is a plastic bag in which the cube of salt can be placed when the light is not in use. You may not ever have to use the bag, but in some environments, the salt will cause water to condense on the salt if the lamp is not on. when the lamp is on the salt is warmed enough to usually keep any condensation off the salt but when at room temperature in humid environments, you may see water on the salt.A gorgeous and unique lamp. I just wish you could adjust the brightness.

Understanding the healing effects of Himalayan Salt as well as the aesthetics are what drew me to this product. I purchased one for every room in my home. I am very happy with my Nuptse Himalayan Salt Lamps; these make perfect gifts~

UPDATE 8/19/18 from purchase 1.5 years agoI loved my Ambion lamps. They are well made and beautiful. A premium price delivered a premium product with a replaceable bulb. Yeah, the bulb, that's now where I feel I have wasted my money. I have to order from mainland China which wouldn't be a big deal if shipping wasn't $55.00. I order things from other sites and ship from China for cheap,, really cheap. Now to replace one bulb I have almost paid for another lamp. I am gonna figure out a way to retrofit a different light instead of throwing my four lamps away but its a real shame because I love them.

I love it. It's beautiful and exactly what I was looking for.

Love the style and design. Looks and works great. Exceeded my expectations.

I did some researches for negative ions with purpose of health benefits especial for deep sleep. I put this salt lamp in my bedroom and it helps me have a good sleep so far. I also use it as night light.One review mentioned that the light is too bright. It does not bother me at all since it is yellowish bright and I can see well than regular night light.The size is perfect (not too big and not too small) and the look is gorgeous. I definitely will buy another one to put in my office or send as a gift to my friends in the future.
