Ironwood Gourmet: AMAZING CUSTOMER SUPPORT!!!
I bought the Carolina Chopping Board, one of the best boards Ironwood Gourmet makes! But before I could make up my mind as to which cutting board to purchase, I called and emailed the company for questions about all their boards. Not only did the representative answer all my questions with utmost details, she also called back to give further details to some of my question. In addition, the “owner” of the company emailed me multiple times the very next day to help clarify some of my questions, and to help me decide which board is right for my needs. I was so surprised by the personal touch and response rate from the company! After much research, I finally decided on which board to buy. When I received my cutting board, I was excited to start the oiling and sealing process. After the first wash, I noticed the board took on a rough surface, which I did some research, and later learned that this process is called “raised grain” and it’s a common phenomenon. Not knowing this detail initially, I called the company again for help and advice. The rep actually took one of their own boards and did a test wash and rubbed it with mineral to see if she could repeat the same effect. Then she emailed me with pictures of her board, showing that her board stayed smooth and offered to send me her board instead, along with a bottle of their board oil, and to cover the return postage of my board! WOW! What service! To make the long story short, we emailed back and forth numerous times, each time aiming to give the best customer service, offering me multiple options, and to make sure I would be happy with the final result!I have NEVER had such personal service from a company before! They aimed to please and showed incredible CORPORATE INTEGRITY! They bent over backwards to please me, and strived to meet all my standards. I am so thankful to Ironwood/Fox Runs Brands, and really appreciate the owner and the representatives who helped me. I would love to brag about their names so Amazon customers would know who they are, but to respect their privacy, I will leave that detail out!All in all, I love my board and am in the process of treating and sealing it with beeswax and mineral oil. It is a beautiful and sturdy board! I just wanted Amazon customers to know that if you decide to purchase a cutting board by Ironwood/Fox Run Brands, you won’t regret it, and will be amazed by their customer support and service. They stand behind their products! The owner and representatives deserve not only 10 stars, but should have "The Company Of The Year” award! Thank you, Ironwood/Fox Run Brands! I want to give credit where credit is due and thank you for your incredible service!

After almost 5 years, it's still beautiful!
When we purchased this cutting board, it had mixed reviews and we were a little skeptical. But, we'd used one in a summer rental and loved it, so we decided to take a chance. We're so glad we did! This cutting board is beautiful and functional! I cook a lot - and use this board several times a day. I love the fact that no matter what I've cut on it - or which knife I've used - the surface remains unscarred. There are no knife marks. No stains. It sits about 3" off the counter surface, which also makes it really nice for cutting, chopping and preparing ingredients.Other than oiling it occasionally with olive, avocado or coconut oil, the board has required no maintenance. We've had it for nearly 5 years and I can honestly say that we'll have it for another 25 or more! :)

Beautiful
Beautiful product. Nice weight with sturdy feet. Thirsty board 😋. Can't wait to use it in a few days. To nice to store in a cabinet.

Love it!
I love this chopping block! Quality and constructed well. No more dull blades cutting on harder surfaces. I regularly treat with mineral oil after each use and looks more beautiful than when it first arrived

Best cutting board I've ever seen or owned.... and I've seen and owned a bunch of them.
I am an avid cook and like to have useful and commerical grade kitchen tools.I've had one of these cutting boards for 25 years and it is like new. I just bought a second one for my daughter as a house warming gift and the new one is exactly like the 25 year old one.I highly recommend this product. The end grain works great for chopping and helps keep a sharp edge on knives.I do a lot of cooking and sharpen my own knives. If you like to cook and like to use your cutlery, this is the board to get.My only suggestion is that you use a putty knife to remove the feet from the bottom. The little groove prevents you from sliding minced things easily off the board. For instance, parsley gets stuck in the groove.Take off the feet with a putty knife. Use a hammer to drive the putty knife between the foot and the board. Drive it in about a half inch from every angle around the circle toward the center. No not drive it all the way through, just a half inch and the feet will pop off.Be careful to stop if you feel the nails that hold the feet on. Just tap it in with a hammer about a half inch all the way around. The nail holes "self heal" over time. You do not have to fill them.Once you remove the feet, then you can use the front and back. The grooved side for meats that bleed and the other side for everything else. I mostly use the smooth side.
