Superb!!!
Super interesting concept, and a totally engaging, nail biting game of cat and mouse. It also explores deeper issues. However, there were quite a few plot holes, which is why I knocked off 1.5 stars. Rating = 3.5

Mind blowing
In the beginning it all starts slow, and I thought this might not be my type, but I was so wrong! Gripping, thrilling to the core and so well written I actually felt I was watching a movie. Kudos!

Gripping and edge of the seat
The book was a fantastic take on twisted, diabolic nasty people who are ruthless and justify their mean acts blatantly. Laura was wicked and devilish to the core and the entire backdrop helps unravel her evil acts fantabulously...a refreshing read after a long time for me

Boring.
I have enjoyed all the books I read by this author but this one I couldn't read beyond60 pages. It was boring, repititive, the story was going nowhere.Probably he took too long disclosing the facts.

A riveting dark psychological thriller
The book revolves around a helpline service called End of Line which people call when they have hit rock bottom and just need a last ray of hope that life is yet worth living. Amongst the users of this helpline are a few unfortunate ones who happen to speak to Laura Morris.Laura is the last person one needs to talk to when they have given up on life. She is a person who is traumatized by her past and is terribly affected by sickness and her failing marriage. She has a warped sense of reality. Laura is always on the lookout for vulnerable people and maipulates them to get a kick from their miserable lives.Things take a drastic turn when Ryan Smith discovers that his pregnant wife jumped to her own death hand in hand with a stranger. The circumstances couldn't have been stranger and Ryan is on a quest to uncover the truth and crosses paths with Laura which ends up in a dangerous game of cat and mouseThe Good Samaritan is a fast paced, dark and intense psychological thriller which you will find hard to put down. The plot is narrated by Ryan and Laura alternately. It is a gripping story with a bunch of flawed characters. The highlight of the story is how it portrays that childhood trauma and failed relationships can manifest into disturbing mental health issues.Follow @read.with.taran on Instagram for more book reviews

Another CRACKER of a book!
WOW...another excellent read from this author! Stellar character development ensued, showing the readers the ends to which people can go to, to achieve their ultimate goals!! I find that the author in each of his novels, goes to great lengths to really shape his characters' persona. This continues to make him, an exceptional author...you get a BIG BANG (consistently) for your bucks....as the saying goes! Fabulous read...very complex and interesting cast of characters! RECOMMEND!!

My Review
I'm sure it's happened to everyone of us, loving a book, hating a character. I'm a character oriented reader, son most of my reviews focus mainly on that part, then again, I really don't know if I want to relive my experience with Laura and Ryan. The plot sounds simple enough, this good woman helps people find reasons, courage and means to "cross the line", the price? Their last breath, simple, huh? Not so much, that's as simple as it gets. Now one would think someone volunteering at "End of the Line" should be simpathetic enough to not try and steal life away, not Laura though, the gets her kicks out of it, and also enjoys deceiving people with her self-proclaimed picture-perfect life. Although at first I really tried to understand, and even justify her actions, everything just kept getting worse, just two words: unreliable narrator, yet somehow she manages to make absolutely Every. Single. Thing about herselfNow lets move on to Ryan, it started well, a young husband in despair and in desperate need of an explanation, fair enough, right? Here's a word for you people: obesssion, someone should have told this guy there are consecuences to trying to deal with a sociopath, I guess he'd rathher learn it the hard way. There are some other characters, whose lives Laura has nicely wrapped around her finger, namely Effie, her daughter and an important piece of this story; Tony, her husband and a great disappointment to me personally; Janine, her boss at End of the Line and one of the most manipulative and unforgivable characters in the story, and some others who, whether they want it or not, end up tangled in a situation only Laura is responible of.All in all, and although some characters have no redeeming qualities whatsoever, this book is so well written and the plot is so enthralling, at a certain time you get to the point of no return, in which you just have to know what is going to happen with all those people you somehow started to care about… and some you haven't.
