YMDKDSA Profile PBT Blank Keycap Set for Ergo Ergodox Planck Preonic Lily 58 Keyboard

The home row (orange row) has no raised bumps on the F and J keys. So when you look at the computer screen and let your hands try to find where they should naturally rest, you have no tactile hints. This was a big issue for me. I fixed this by keeping my keyboard’s original F and J keys, and replacing the rest. Other than that, the keys work great.

For $25, there may not be a better deal around than these keycaps. Tight (but not too-tight) fit on cherry-compatible switches, good surface texture, PBT better than ABS plastic.

I wanted to try a set of DSA keycaps on my keyboard. I didn't want to spend a lot of money, as my objective was to just get a feel of the profile.Ordered this kit as it fit the bill of "not a of money, covers 99.9% of my keystrokes, has the 4 2u's that I need, and looks pretty funky cool to boot". i used the original home row keys on the thumb pads by choice, there were plenty of black 1u's to cover them.Nothing was missing. No variation from cap to cap. Decent enough texture, I personally would like a bit more. It is consistent from one cap to another. Nice and thick. No issues with putting them on, they aren't too tight, nor loose. They pull easily as well.Pretty hard to beat for $20 and change. While I don't have a $100 set to compare them to, diminishing returns starts to kick in. Let's face it. It is a piece of plastic. There's nothing unique about key caps, far more complex things are molded without issue, and have been forever. Textures vary, that's a personal preference. As long as they don't vary from cap to cap and the manufacturer hasn't cheaped out on thickness, there isn't a lot more to be done. And since they are blanks, there are no legends to concern yourself with.Would have been 5 stars if there was a bit more texture. Again, that's a personal preference.Conclusion: A cheap enough way to try something out to see if your fingers like the profile. In my case, they like the profile a lot, as the small spherical surface is almost an exact match for the old IBM keycaps from mainframe terminals and Selectrics.

I want to like these keycaps. They are blank black keys and they look super cool. But the tops of the keycaps are just too small compared to the sculpted ones that I was using before. The texture of the PBT is great but the surface area is barely larger than my fingertips and that makes my Ergodox uncomfortable to use. It also exacerbates the distance between the MX keys, which are already spread farther apart than their choc counterparts. Oh, also there are no homing keys to place on the F and J.So as much as I love the look I am probably going to return these. :( It's sad because at $20 they are quite a steal, especially compared to the ZSA branded black keys which cost five times as much!

…the fit is so tight that when I remove the keycaps, the switches always get yanked out as well.

Amazing quality, not be confused with low grade molding.Even though there was a slight mishap with the shipping the seller immedeately resolved the manner with a constructive approach. Wholeheartedly recommended!

Using these on a Sofle v2.1 split keyboard.The keys all fit well and feel steady to type on, these are a good purchase if you're wanting to move to a blank keycap on a budget.
