Alternative to Circ Cell Clay Cleanser!
I started using this cleanser during the winter last year because I wanted to switch up my routine a bit. I’ve been using Circ Cell’s clay cleanser for about three years. This cleanser also removes all makeup and dirt without drying out my face. It’s unbelievable. I rinse my face with water after washing and then I use a wet white washcloth to see if there’s any dirt or makeup left, and there’s none! I’ve never found a cleaner that removes all makeup and doesn’t dry my face, it’s incredible! I’d recommend this to anyone who wants a clean face that isn’t tight and dry after washing.

Cleanses Well & May See Brightening-Irritates My Skin & Got Bumps, Sodium Hydroxide Is Listed High
This Circcell milky cleanser looks like a white, lightweight lotion. I massage it on my wet face and it doesn’t foam, but it glides smoothly perhaps from the glycerin. This has mandarin, orange peel and grapefruit peel oils and a citrus scent that’s pleasant enough, though I love the smell of citrus and this doesn’t smell as good as I’d expect. I have dry, sensitive skin and have used this cleanser 5 days in a row. This is supposed to gently exfoliate. It leaves my skin clean and subjectively my skin seems a little brighter. But this cleanser feels too strong for my skin and doesn’t feel comforting or hydrating. Initially, my skin felt a little tight and prickly with slight burning. But it seems worse with time. Last night, my chin got a small patch of red bumps or blisters just after use. I used it one more time this morning and now the bumps or blisters are more widespread and feel irritated and itchy at times. They look like pimples, but I’m in my 50’s and stopped getting pimples ages ago. I’ve been applying my most hydrating and soothing serums and creams, but my skin still doesn’t feel as comfortable as usual. I’ve discontinued use.I personally see a pattern of irritation from facial products with sodium hydroxide (lye), unless it’s low or last on the ingredient list. Here, it’s high at halfway down the list. It’s in many products I’ve tried lately that claim to exfoliate. I can’t help but wonder if it’s the sodium hydroxide, which can be corrosive to skin, that results in fast exfoliation or brightening. It is used as a pH balancer, so perhaps the products that use it are just too acidic for my face. I’m not a chemist and don’t know. But I don’t recommend this cleanser for sensitive, dry skin. Those with less sensitive skin may tolerate it and see brighter skin. 3 stars.Note: At this time, the ingredient list is not posted on the product page. Only the special, natural ingredients are listed. I do wish full lists would be posted so those with sensitivities can check for potential irritants.
