Yes, I believe this would be a great bag to hold textbooks and your laptop.

Length 13 in.. Width 8 in. Height 15 in.

Q: does a laptop fit in the larger front zipper area?

A smaller one would but front pocket not padded like the rest

Q: What is the weight capacity of it?

I have not weighed everything, but I do know that I would have a hard time carrying everything! Glad for the wheels!
