Black Tulip: A Screenplay: Bedtime Story: A Play

Well worth a read and a performance
Bedtime Story uses the Mahabharata as a reference to understand Indian attitudes to the marginalized--women and the lower castes--in the epic and in the modern day and age. Black Tulip brings together three unlikely characters--a cop, a confidence trickster-cum-jewel thief and a computer programmer--to bring about the downfall of a baddie. Both the play and the screenplay are worth a read, if not a performance. It is a pity that our over-zealous and thin-skinned censors have ensured that neither the play nor the screenplay are brought to life as performative art.

I both hate this "Bombay" and recognize this "Bombay" as my own ...
Nagarkar's books are a beacon in the mediocrity spawned by the likes of Chetan Bhagat. I can feel his "Bombay"; I grew up in his "Bombay". I both hate this "Bombay" and recognize this "Bombay" as my own and wouldn't have wanted to grow up any differently.

The book came without the soft cover on top..... Otherwise the book is great

Nothing great
Have read only 'Bedtime Stories'. Good in parts but mostly it was ordinary. I guess it must be owing a good part of its sales to it having been banned in the past.
