A great gift
My son and I have spent countless hours making dens from sofa cushions, blankets, pieces of furniture - some successful, others not so and results in the blanket roof sliding away, cushion walls collapsing and an upset 3 year old. Although we will continue with sofa den this kit makes a wonderful change. At 3 years old, my help was definitely required in assembling (as stated in the product details). The connectors are fairly stiff when putting together, although we've only used a couple of times and so they may possibly become easier to connect with more use. The set comes with 44 sticks, 24 ball joints and 88 connectors, enough supplies to make a substantially sized structure for 1 child to sit inside comfortably/ 2 small children to squeeze into. Easy to follow instructions on how to connect and a number of diagrams for build inspiration including sphere, rocket and castle, from which we've tried a strange amalgamation of a few, resulting in an odd igloo shaped home. We've covered in a light sheet, which the structure could easily hold. I'm unsure whether it would hold a heavy duvet - I guess this would depend on the shape of the structure too. Novel, well made and comes in a nice box too, making it a gift I would recommend.

Lots of potential, but …
The media could not be loaded. The connectors are quite difficult to press into the holes of the balls when you are using a hole along the centre line. My 8 year old couldn’t do these ones by herself, the other holes provide less resistance and she manages these. You do feel like you may break the clip when removing the connector from the centre lines in order to place in a different position. In fact, I did break two, you have to really squeeze the clip when removing so that it doesn’t snap off inside the ball. My daughter couldn’t put enough pressure on the clip to remove it.We received the polygon set and it does take the weight of a blanket, but nothing more. Product states 3+, small children can easily play inside, but construction would be too difficult. Small children could use their imagination and tell you what shape to create, and older children could get involved more by connecting whatever they can manage and getting help from an adult for the rest.It does come with a carry bag, but if you want to be able to use it and close the bag then you have to disassemble each stick, connector and ball otherwise it doesn’t fit in the bag. With makes storing take a bit longer. It is a good set and great for small dens, it’s just not as easy for children as the description claims.

Great fun constructing
Bought for my 6 year old Grandson, great fun putting together but dismantling was impossible for him as you have to pinch the jaws at the end that are very strong, I got a numb thumb by the end. Nevertheless it’s more important that it stays up without falling apart like cheaper foam ones.Would still recommend if you have a strong thumb.

Missing pieces
Comes together in a cardboard box, showing you some of the designs of the dens you can construct. It's abit confusing on how many pieces you should be getting, box says 68, and what length the rods are ment to be. The box says the rod lengths are 30cm, they do measure 38cm. The listing says you get 18 green connecting balls and 6 orange. We did have the 6 orange, but only 15 green. There was also ment to be 88 clips and we had 84. The clip ends sit snuggly on the end of the rod. You then clip into any of the holes on the ball to begin make your den shape and size. Some go in much easier than others, but hold well in place. You need to pinch it together tightly to remove the clip, young children would definitely need help with this, it takes abit of force. The size of the structure you can make can be as big as you want to build. If you copy some of the images on the sheet which is included, you have some of it which is only 1 rod high, so if a child was using this as their entrance, they would need to be fairly small to crawl through the gap of only 38cm. It's intended for children to use their imagination and build, but it seems too hard for children to do on their own. It's not overly sturdy if children were to learn, push, pull, knock or just general play. I really wanted to like this set, but I am feeling a little disappointed.

Build your own den kit
This colourful kit contains 68 pieces of building kit consisting of numerous long poles that push into little fittings. These then push onto the balls to start creating the shapes you want. The pieces fit together pretty snuggly and are easy enough to move if required. The instructions show loads of different ideas to build different dens and are strong enough to chuck a sheet over once completed to make a proper den. The kids love these things. At £29.99 I thought these may be a bit expensive but once we started building them up this seems quite a quality product and worth every penny.9 year old was able to assemble easily on his own using instructions provided.
