Hygrometer Digital Round - Blue

This is NOT an accurate hygrometer, nor is it repeatable.
Out of the box, this read 40% in a 60% environment. I have a high-quality industrial-grade hygrometer for comparison. To be sure, I did the salt-water test overnight and the good hygrometer was exactly 75% while this piece of garbage read 65%. Tracked over a week, it meanders from -10% to -3% accuracy. In other words, I cannot even make a mental adjustment for known offset, as it is not repeatable. It is non-adjustable, inaccurate, non-repeatable, and non-returnable. Do not waste your money like I did.

Know your humidors humidity.
When I first put this humidistat in my humidor I was sure how accurate it was going to be. I checked the indoor and outdoor humidity it read very close +/- 2 to the readings on my in/out door humidity meter.I put them in each humidor and let them read for 48 hours. Took the readings then switched them in the humidors then another 48 hours they were within the +/-2 reading.I have to say they are very accurate for my needs. I use the 70% propylene/glycol solution and my readings are 70 & 71 % humidity respectively.I only open the humidors to take out a cigar or 2 and to recharge if you leave the door open too long you will notice a humidity drop and recovery takes time.If you fine it running below your optimal humidity you can put a shot glass of distilled water in it for 24 hours then recheck your level to make sure it recovered.I would recommend these hydrometers.

Very inaccurate thermometer
The thermometer is off by between 10 and 20 degrees F, for any temperature that is below 65F or so.I would be ok with +/-3 degrees F or even +/-6 degrees F but 20 degrees off is basically rendered useless as a thermometer. I compared it with two other thermometer/hygrometers I have, and also with my car's thermometer.Example: this read 34F degrees last night, when the other thermometers I have were reading around 50F which agreed with the weather service. Not sure whether I got a bad copy or if they are all like that. For temperatures around 75F it was more accurate.

Not accurate
I have two of these for my cigar humidors. I did the salt test/calibration and one was -8% (67%RH) and the other was -4% (71%RH). I had an analogue one that came with the humidor I did in the same bag at the same time as the digital, I adjusted it and it is holding at 70%RH with Gel-Balls and glycine which advertises 70%RH So I am confident that is accurate, the digital Humicare in that same humidor reads a steady 62%RH (-8% off). There is no provision to adjust these, they are set from the factory.Personally I do not like to have to do the math every time, it defeat the purpose. I ordered two Cigar Oasis Caliber IV Digital Hygrometer by Western Humidor as they seem to be concistantly in the top 5 in a few reviews and had 4.5 stars with 2,500+ purchases on Amazon. If the Oasis are off by more than +/-2%RH I’ll move up to a higher price point. You get what you pay for I guess. My only caution is these seem to very greatly in accuracy from unit to unit if that’s not a concern it’s probably ok for your needs. To me this is a measurement device and should be within an acceptable tolerance

How I track... and i rely on it..
got a new humidor for my cigars, and needed a gauge to measure temp and humidity.while seasoning my humidor, I was able to check how my new humidor was doing, and thanks to this device, it is easy to read, and it works just fine. I borrowed another gauge to validate accuracy, and both measured the same results.I do recommend this for anyone looking for a starting / beginner humidor... had it over a month now, and confident my cigars are in a nice home... thanks to this device.

Solid little hygrometer
I knew when I bought this that you couldn't calibrate it. On both temp and humidity it reads a bit higher than other calibrated hygrometers I have. But only 1% on humidity so that is really nothing. Cheaper than others.October 18th Update: I bought another with the same good result.

A nice little hydrometer for the price..
Since I've had the Humi-Care digital hydrometer it pleasantly surprised me with it accuracy. For the money it's been accurate and easy to read. The Celsius feature is cool, if I knew how to tell the temperature in Celsius. The adhesive piece on the back is kinda useless, but it's still good for the price.

DO NOT waste your money
When I received my first one, I did the salt test and it was off by 8%! I got a replacement and did the salt test again and the second one was off by 7%. Highly inaccurate and can not be adjusted or calibrated. Absolute waste of time and money.
