Works just as intended
Love this. It was super easy to install, but I HIGHLY recommend draining the water from your water heater FIRST. I didn't and wish I would have and definitely will next time!!

A repeat purchase
Happy with the ease of installation last time, so went with this again. Note that this is a "sacrificial" item and needs to be replaced at _least_ biannually to preserve the integrity of your hot water heater tank.

Replace this at the beginning of each camping season!
You know what this is, it works, you need to change it annually or risk rusting out your tank.

Fits Suburban SW10DE
First off, my trailer is a little older. However, when I got it, the prior owner used it very little and had it stored for many years without use.I have never drained the hot water heater (Suburban SW10DE) by the annorod. I just winterized via compressed air and it took waaaaay too long. I had tried a couple times to remove the annorod to drain and inspect it, but always had concerns about damaging the tank since the rod appeared stuck in it.I finally determined that if I didn’t force it out, I would end up having to replace the hot water heater anyways from the tank being eaten alive from the inside out. Boy was I right… I used a breaker bar and had to really put the back arm in it. Finally got it out and just in time. Nothing left. Tank still looks ok, but that was way too close. Will be forcing this out annually from now on to inspect when winterizing.Much easier process to drain and get the lines all clear. Product is genuine Suburban and a fair price even if needed every year. I don’t live in my trailer, but probably use it a solid 7-8 months out of the year to get out in the boon docks monthly.

Suburban aluminum water heater anode rod
Used this aluminum anode rod to replace the magnesium one that made the water heater water smell like rotten eggs. No more smell now.
