Judgment Of The Nephilim

This is an absolute must-buy for all those who are serious about studying the Word of God.
My beloved has not been so taken by a book in years and, usually, he is a slow reader and this is a big book - in no time at all he has almost finished it and from what he has said he has learnt I can't wait. It explains why God did certain things which we in the 21st century might view as questionable, and He was so right to command the Israelites to do His bidding even if it might seem distasteful to us. Far from the Nephilim being all destroyed in the Flood their seed was present in the wives of Noah's sons. Remember it was only Noah who was considered a righteous man in God's eyes and his son Ham, from what we read in scripture, was anything but righteous! This book has been so incredibly well researched and is solidly based on the Word of God I am amazed it has taken someone so long to prove to us that which we have wondered about for so many years, or conversely have totally ignored which I think is the answer to the following question viz: Why on earth has this not been taught in churches? This is an absolute must-buy for all those who are serious about studying the Word of God.

Warning- King James translation used for bible passages
This is a fascinating piece of work - but why oh why use the King James translation for the bible passages? It doesn’t make a work more scholarly, rather it’s irritating and comes across a little grandiose. There are much more accessible, and dare I say it, more academically accurate translations available.

FASCINATING BOOK
This is a fascinating book that examines a period of time for which I was not always sure the orthodox narrative -held by Bible scholars and archaeologists - actually made any sense. This book makes the compelling suggestion that angels 'left their first estate' and had relationships with women; the offspring being 'giants' or the Nephilim who were still on Earth in the Promised Land when the Israelite spies scouted the land and the people were scared to enter. Skeletons of giants discovered have not been adequately explained by archaeology. Some have postulated 'aliens' which this book does not subscribe to, although angels are by definition 'other worldly'. Backed by extensive Biblical quotations the author presents his argument, joins the dots, and after reading the book a lot of things make a lot more sense. A very interesting read obviously for anyone interested in the Bible, but also for those who have an interest in origins and ancient history. It is a large book, lots of pages, but very well written and after I started to read could not put it down. Well worth five stars. I would give it six stars if that was an option.

Interesting
I have never accepted the sethite explanation for the sons of God in the old testament, this makes more sense and is logical, that said one should be careful about attaching too much importance to the book of Enoch, the compilers of the KJV left it out of the cannon for good reasons.

An interesting study flawed by a too-literal approach to scripture.
Although the author's knowledge of the Bible is impressive, this book (and many others like it) suffers from his identification of mythic with cosmic time and while there is arguably a synergistic relationship between the two this is not convincingly expressed within a theological approach to scripture which depends too heavily on its literal interpretation. Nevertheless this book is clearly a serious attempt to address the problems thrown up by Genesis 6 and will serve as a useful way into a more robust and less confessional approach to the subject.
