QuickBooks Online For Dummies (UK)

Clear, concise and very informative!

Sometimes the book is wordy. But it is better when starting or doing something difficult to have the extra information. There are some important things missing so I still need to contact the software support for help. The book has some good advice on starting that can really help. It has a good index and is easy to read and follow.One thing to realise before buying this book is that this software is no good if you need to use the UK financial year. You will need to change your tax year to April 1st because partial month boundaries are not allowed. I am not sure of the work arounds for this and I can’t remember seeing anything about this in the book but it can be useful to have VAT quarters matching the financial years so not a problem if you are starting a new business.I don’t think this book is enough….but it is a great help….and you will need help from your bookkeeper, accountant and the software support chat, helpline too. Sometimes it is important to have something you can see while following the advice. This book matched or was very close to the software so well worth it. If you are in the UK then this is the book you need because our tax system is different. Don’t buy the US version!

Easy to follow helpful to set up QuickBooks for UK (VAT).

It can be difficult to decipher, in poor lighting.

Having run Quick Books desk top for many years I, like many more have been forced to update to the online version due to Windows not supporting the older QB formats.OK rant over!Down to the book, if you are an Accountant am sure you can understand the hip hop language to describe the many tasks that lie ahead in setting up your new system. But as a layman the descriptions just jump from subject to subject and the diagrams, if your eyesight is good enough to read them, do not match the dialogue.Keeping the book though ,fits under the Piano leg for balance!!
