Robust, great value trowel
Well constructed stainless steel trowel. I'm hoping the plastic handle will provide greater longevity than the wooden handles of the trowels we've gone through recently - ok, they might have lasted longer if I had been more diligent in putting them away after the better half had finished with them, rather than leaving them strewn around the garden....

Excellent quality
This is an excellent trowel , very strong and the angle and shape of the handle is very comfortable. It is worth paying for a decent metal trowel because cheap ones don't last and don't cut into the soil very well. This one could do with thinner edges, actually, but overall I am very pleased with it. Worth buying although quite expensive.

Good trowel and better than the fork
I bought this trowel and matching hand fork when Homebase had a 50% discount on Spear & Jackson garden tools and got each of them for less than £5. Both are good value at that price but this trowel is better made and more durable than the fork. It is hard to fault it. The grip is of a rubberised plastic material and comfortable in the hand, it won't rot if it gets wet and in our climate it will get wet. The blade is wide and strong in contrast to the fork which is more fragile. Very well pleased with it.

Fit for purpose
I do a lot of heavy-duty gardening and wanted a trowel that was lightweight yet sturdy. This fits the bill completely. The handle is lightweight and not too big for a woman's grasp, but the business end is large and strong enough to deal with rain-soaked, and sometimes impacted, soil.
