I wanted a smaller fan with a low profile to circulate air in a bathroom with slightly less than 8 foot ceilings. This fits that bill nicely. It's quiet, moves a fair amount of air and is configured so that the blades are well above the head of my 6'2" 16 year old. Given his state of wakefulness when he's getting ready for school, that's pretty important.The light is brighter than I expected given other reviewers' comments. But I have plenty of other fixtures in the room. More disappointing to me is that the dimming range is very narrow, i.e., at it's dimmest it's not a lot less bright than at peak lumens. And also disappointing is that I only learned that after a pretty long wait on Hunter customer service because the remote arrived without dimming switched on. With a friendly tech's instructions (nowhere to be found in the manual or website) it was a only few minutes work to activate dimming. Why it wasn't shipped in a condition to perform as the manual says it will is a question not covered in his database.All in all, though, it's a solidly built, attractive fan that was pretty straightforward for this non-pro to install.

I purchased 7 of these fans, 4 new and 3 of them used/like new. Two of the used/like new units had a problem with the remote control unit, probably the reason they were returned. These I had installed in rooms in which they were rarely used, so more than 30 days elapsed before noticing the problem. In one case, while off, the light would flicker on for a fraction of a second approximately each 15-20 minutes. In the other, the fan and light would shut off for a second every 30 minutes. So my whole $30 savings (plus) on each was eaten up by paying for replacement remote controllers, which fixed the problem. No problems with the other 5 units.Aside from that, I am very happy with the look, sound level, remote functionality, etc. I put two in one large long room, and control them in parallel with one controller.

This is an attractive ceiling fan that went up fairly easily. I replaced an existing bedroom fan (old - shiny brass/oak) with this one and it looks great up there. I have an 8 foot ceiling in that room and used the standard down rod which is only a few inches long. It's over a bed so I'm not concerned with head clearance but it's still about 7 feet above the floor.Installation went as expected. The instructions are clear and the pictures were helpful. I don't know how many ceiling fans I've installed over the years but it's a lot. This was one of the easier ones.The remote is great. They include a holder that you attach over the light switch that is used to power the fan so the remote hides that switch and cradles the fan. The remote is also a nice size and has buttons marked with the fan speed you want and a light button. The light is dimmable - just hold down the light button on the remote.The fan is quiet on all but the highest speed. I can hear a whoosh noise but that's to be expected. There was a noticeable wobble that I fixed with the included kit.One little thing I don't like is that they hid the reverse switch under the light kit so you have to remove the globe to reverse the fan. I generally don't use the fan in the winter so this isn't a big deal but they sure made it more difficult than it needs to be.

This is a indiscreet, low profile, quiet fan. Does a great job of moving air on our back porch.

after research chose HUNTER BRAND since had previous hunter in 3 rooms for 25 yrs. of course all products lack the quality these days. runs quiet ,looks great and easy to install with good instructions

We were looking for a simple, unobtrusive fan that was QUIET and not wobbly like the fans that we have already. We also wanted one that had normal sized bulbs so that we could replace them with Hue bulbs. It's not enough to just have the right size - some lamps have dimming functions which cause the Hues to not work, but I'm happy to report that they work fine with this one. No issues with fitting the bulb in. Install was a little tricky because our wires were different from the ones shown in the instructions - we have only the one wall switch instead of separate ones for fan and light - but some Googling resolved that. We didn't have to use any of the balancing widgets; it was fine out of the box. The remote works fine too. Very happy with this purchase.

The fan/light combo works very well in our kitchen and we are pleased with the contemporary look. It’s not a “ceiling hugger” by definition but is plenty close enough to be considered one. Note to buyer: The light stopped working a day after installation. The two LED bulbs needed to be replaced with “dimmable” LED bulbs for light and dimming feature to work.

Quality hunter fan. All three speeds are on target for what they should be. Remote is easy to use with your eyes closed. A couple of reviews made me question the light tone; I’ll confirm that the lights that come in the box are soft white with plenty of brightness, they’re not fluorescent white.UPDATE: after almost two months of use, the fan has stopped working. Not sure if it’s the fan, or the remote. I’ve tried re-pairing the remote, but that’s not working. The fan doesn’t have pull chord/chains, so it’s hard to discern if it’s a remote or fan issue. I’ve tried calling customer service, but they’re only open when I’m at work-not helpful. Now getting an electrician to check it out. May have to go through painstaking process of trying to return it under warranty. Either way, don’t need this issue from a brand new fan.UPDATE: I had electrician check out the fan. The fan is a dud, remote receiver is faulty. Never going to buy a fan without pull strings again.ONE LAST UPDATE: The fan was still under one year warranty. I called Hunter Fan directly and they’re customer service was superb. Easy to deal with. They replaced the fan at no cost to me.
