The design is elegant. Plus, black chopsticks just look cool. They are very straight, strong, and lightweight. The tips are treated so that it's easier to pick up food. And they are thick enough that they don't fall through the utensil holder in my dishwasher, but they are still thin enough to look elegant.

I love Asian cuisine of all sorts and enjoy using chopsticks. I decided it was better for the environment to buy ones I could wash rather than tossing them out. My local Chinese restaurant who was so accustomed to me asking for extra chopsticks asked me if something was wrong when I stopped asking for them. I have owned my set for over a year and they are still going strong. Some have mentioned that these are on the heavier side. I would agree, they are made of a durble material that will not chip or melt easily on you and that brings out the weight. I found it easy to get used to and actually helpful when eating larger and heavier items, since the sticks will balance it out and actually make it easier for your hands. Provided you hold them properly and not on the simple but beautiful pattern.
