DECORLIFE1.5" Rockwool Cubes for Hydroponics, 4 Sheets of 49 Starter Plugs (196 Plugs Total)

The hole may not be in center and one or 2 pieces may fall apart but overall quality is good. Price is affordable so I can use it as soilless medium for microgreens (not real microgreens because I can harvest many times) like chives and cilantro. My tray is small so I cut half in height of rockwools for microgreen. I got culantro seedlings from seeds using this rockwool.

I purchased a smaller quantity of rockwool from a different vendor, and loved it! But it was a smaller quantity. This order had 3x as many cubes, so I got it. I had no idea that some is better than others. This one is HORRIBLE!! Not only is it impossible to separate into actual cubes (it shreds right through the “cube”, and not along the intended line), but it’s like fiberglass! I got tiny fibers all in my hands from touching it, and it was really hard to get completely off. I had to wash my hands 3 times with hot, soapy water. The other order I got (from a different vendor) just felt like a soft cloth, and never hurt my hands. DO NOT BUY THIS GARBAGE PRODUCT!!

The fiberglass appears to be layered horizontally and the layers can be pulled apart easily, so that is different then other rockwool cubes I have used. Seems like you have to handle them a little more carefully, when they are dry, then other brands of rockwool cubes. I wasn't to sure about the cubes when I first received them but they absorbed water with no problems. I tried a bunch of different seeds and they all grow quickly. The roots seem to have no problem with the fiberglass being layered horizontally. I liked them enough that I placed a larger second order.

It’s ok rockwool, considering the price I guess it’s fine. A lot of the holes weren’t in the center of the rock wool so it’s very frustrating to rip the squares apart. I would not purchase again just for ease of use.

This should not even be called rock wool! After handling it, everything itches that eventually came in contact with this stuff. Almost like fiberglass. It would be best if you cut it with a knife to get them apart. Else, they fall apart. Just junk. Pay a little more and get the real stuff!
