Sunny's Kitchen: Easy Food for Real Life: A Cookbook

Beyond My Expectations
I will begin with the fact that the vendor described the book as "Like-New," but the book was pristine! It looked as if it was hot off the press and there was not a mark or crease on the binding, cover or any of the pages. The cookbook itself was printed on very nice quality paper and all the pictures were colorful and vibrant. They say you eat with you eyes first and the pictures whet my appetite. I enjoyed thumbing through the entire cookbook and can't wait to begin to try the recipes. I like the fact that there was a diversity of menus with international flair, even if some were foods you may have eaten on the "regular." Sunny put her own spin with herbs and spices, sauces, etc., probably because of her international travels. I enjoyed the fact that she shared personal pictures and stories about family and friends in the book, it reinforced the, "genuinely open and welcoming feeling" one gets when watching her share her craft on TV.

"INSPIRING, DELIGHTFUL, DELICIOUS RECIPES, STUNNING PHOTOS & MORE!"
Sunny Anderson delivers a Masterpiece cookbook that is not only packed with delicious recipes, but offers much more. The author traveled around the world, and shares her expertise from her TV show, presenting mouth-watering recipes that are incredible. This is the most refreshing, and inspiring cookbook that I have collected thus far. Sunny Anderson's fascinating stories of her life growing up with her dream of becoming a chef, combined with exciting recipes and colorful photos of prepared meals makes this book a page-turner. This cookbook offers:Breakfast;Dinners;SIDES;DESSERTS;DIPS;and much more. The stunning photos are not only of cooked meals, but also include her personal family photos, making this book very enjoyable. Some of the recipes include: Rosemary T-Bone Steak And Cheese Eggs; Chicken And Chorizo Hash With OJ gravy; Strawberry-Blueberry Banana-Nut Muffins With Cinnamon-raison Butter; Lemon-Maple Chicken And Waffles casserole; Brooklyn Beef Patties; Pumpkin Pecan Pie French Toast With Butterscotch Syrup; and more. In addition: There are recipes for Soups; Salads; Seafood; Vegetables; Sweets; and drinks. For me, this cookbook also struck fond memories of my own about Brooklyn as I was born there and resided in New York 45 years. I could actually visualize Sunny selling her famous crepes with her own vendor on the streets of New York, bringing smiles to many. The recipes for Appetizers; Biscuits; Gravy; Dips will make your mouth water. I can't wait to try the Loaded Puff Pastry Sticky Buns. What an amazing cookbook, worth every penny indeed! The author includes helpful tips, number of servings, and great ideas. My daughter has selected the 'Cucumber And Orange Salad With Creamy Pineapple Dressing' which I cannot wait to try. There are also recipes for Pasta; Lamb; Pudding;Bread; Ice Cream; and homemade Whipped Cream. I made the PB&J Pancakes With Blackberry syrup, totally satisfying and a sensation. Next on my list, I'm going to try Jeff's Cheesy Vacation Potatoes With Sweet Spicy Sausage Patties. As I glanced at the colorful photos, I was anxious to try some of her famous recipes. I will leave updates with recipes we make. Inspiring, delicious recipes, beautiful photos, and a great gift for family and friends. Highly recommended!

Full of emotion
I am sitting here right now with tears flowing down my face. I was reading Sunny's Introduction in the beginning of this cookbook and was overwhelmed with emotion. Growing up as an Air Force Brat and now an Army Wife, I completely related when Sunny wrote, "I knew food was the glue that held us together as we moved from place to place. In fact, as many times as we moved, the most important boxes to open first were the ones labeled, 'kitchen'." I share Sunny and her parents' philosophy of "As long as we have each other and our kitchen stuff, we will be ok." I haven't been able to decorate for Christmas because we have moved every December since 2012. It doesn't bother me as much as I thought it would, as long as I have the ability to use the kitchen. The kitchen is always the last thing to get packed and the first to get unpacked. It is the true center of our home and always brightens our spirits when we are moving into a new adventure.I watched Sunny's show in the beginning and loved her stories. I bought her cookbook because we were stationed in Fort Bragg, North Carolina in the city that her grandparents lived. I knew this book would be worth it's weight in gold if she had any of her grandmother's recipes in it! Eastern Carolina has a food style that is so hard to describe, but so delicious. It's comforting without being heavy and Carolina natives know everything is better with bacon.I also wanted her cookbook because of her German recipes. From German potato salad to schnitzel, Sunny knows the epitome of comfort food no matter what cuisine we are talking about. It may seem strange to say, but you feel the love and care in her recipes. Everything she cooks is from the heart with the intention of it being enjoyed by all.

Sunny
Love her show on Food Network - and have been waiting for this to come to UK for ages. Really disappointed. Nothing that I would really cook at all from this book. Shame - I think Sunny is great.
