Update 7/13/2023 ….I was immediately contacted by the Company to address my concerns. They provided recommendations for the spindles which worked very well.They do stand by the recommendation that you use screws to attach the cups.I used some double sided tape. I thought this might be easier to remove. At this point I haven’t removed the cups … mainly because they are securely stuck to the wallBottom line …. The gates seemed secure for the 5 days the 15 month old was in the house. We found the usage of the gates relatively easy. We will continue to use the product, but you still need to watch the small child especially as they get heavier. We found the 15 month old did regularly push on the gates (they held, but the child needs to be closely supervised)Original Review:We purchased 2 of these gates ... one for the top of the stairs and one for the bottom ... when our toddler grandchildren visited for a week.First, you really need wide flat surfaces for each of the pressure points. Our stairs have round spindles and it was difficult to secure the unit to the round spindles; I used zip ties to further secure the unit to the spindle side.Second, the descriptions indicate that "pressure mount" works, however for human use (v. pet use), the instructions advise that permanent hardware (in other words, use screws to attach cups that the pressure hardware fits into) is necessary. We jerry-rigged this using 3M Command strips; hopefully these will remove as normal with no impact on the walls.For parents and other caregivers where toddler exposure is more frequent, with hardware mounted cups, the unit would likely work reasonably well.Our approach seems to work for a 2-3 day stay every few months --- a situation where we do not want the gate up all the time and where there is a relatively short time frame for the jerry rigged approach.

This was a very high quality product! I had to return it, though, bc despite the pictures, it doesn’t work at all stairs…decorative flares and just the way different stairs are made will affect whether or not you can use this at a staircase. My banister and handrail came down a half inch too far and no matter what I did, I couldn’t get it to work where I needed it to. I used it in my hallway for a little while (that’s how I know how well it works). I used this as a dog gate and my dog is HUGE but never body slammed into the gate, just for reference.The automatic gate closure is awesome and works really well and smoothly if you have the gate installed correctly! The opening is also a very decent size (many are VERY narrow! Hard to get yourself through, let alone with a laundry basket!) and it’s heavy duty, not lightweight.I have since switched to one that has a cat door in it since I’m using it to keep my dog out of the cats’ area when I’m not home, and the one I have now is completely inferior to this one. The only reason that I use it instead of this one that is a much better product is bc I need the cat door feature where I’m now using it, which this one doesn’t have. But like I said, this gate is a superior product!

I've had this gate for over a year now and I've used it at the bottom of my staircase which is wide and has odd measurements. After trying out a couple of different gates that either fell short or the attachments to extend were too long, this gate fit perfect. It is sturdy!! Everyone in the house lets the gate door slam behind them (no matter how many times I tell them not to) and there is no damage, it still locks. My 7-year old accidently slid into it and it barely moved. My 2-year old can reach the top of the gate but cannot open it. This one is perfect and I'm very happy with the purchase!

I have 3 dogs. My male dog is 120 lbs and he would just barrel through our other gates we tried. I installed this gate with wall nanny wall protector and my dogs cant even budge this gate. The click lock is very strong too!

This gate worked out very well for our two pups. They were in the teething stage and this saved my furniture. We purchased 2 other gates prior to this one and they both failed us. I also have only a limited amount of space to fit this in the location I had the pups and thank goodness it worked even with a beveled wall space (stoppers helped). Worth the money for me..

Looks great. Holds up against my toddler yanking on it. Button is easy to use as I know other can get stuck. This is the second time we have bought this product. It held up for just over a year before we needed a new one in the main hallway

It’s perfect, easy to use and easy to walk through. Also looks great outdoors closing off a deck. Well made and completely worth the money!

So talk, sturdy and safe. I am very pleased with the quality of this gate. YouTube videos were super helpful for installation.
