Seems to be working!
I suffer with sweaty feet! Yep, it's lovely. So, consequently, my shoes are a breeding ground for fungus and bacteria which occasional causes my big toes to become infected (especially, it seems, as I'm getting older). I also have big feet (size 12.5) and struggle to find shoes that are the correct size - they're usually a little too tight. Unfortunately, especially with new shoes, they can feel really comfortable when I try them on for the first time, but it can take a few hours for me to realise that they're too tight. This can sometimes cause my big toes a bit of grief because my shoes put a little extra strain on my big toe nails and I think this can allow infections to develop under and around the nails. Now, there are lots of treatments around that claim to treat infected nails but, as is often the case, I decided to look through the reviews on Amazon and find out which products worked better than others. This product had some good reviews, contained natural ingredients and seemed reasonably priced so I decided to give it a go.The box contains a bottle of solution (which has a brush fixed inside the cap) a file and another smaller brush which, I assume, is for getting into those smaller cracks and crevices around the cuticles. I'm assuming this because the box doesn't tell you what it's used for (from what I could see anyway).First I filed down both infected big toe nails. The file seems to work really well - it's a hard plastic/resin file which cuts through the dead nail nicely (I had to wash it a few times because it clogs up (like any file does) to get the best out of it). Then I rinsed and dried my feet before applying the solution to my nails, around the cuticles and onto areas of skin above the nails. The solution doesn't have any strong odour and didn't seem to sting or cause any kind of sensation after it was applied. I noticed that it doesn't really soak into the nail quickly - it just glazes it. You need to leave it to soak in for 10 to 15 minutes. My only gripe here is that it doesn't really dry (I was anticipating a kind of varnish that would dry). Perhaps I'm using too much. Perhaps that's just the way it is. But it made me doubt how much of the product was being absorbed by my nails. Anyway, after applying this a couple of times a day for about a week, I noticed that one nail (which seemed to have the biggest discolouration/fungal problem) was starting to peel/flake/lift slightly on one side. So I decided to give it a little prod, poke and a pick and...about a third of the nail just peeled off from top to bottom! I think it had been damaged when I played tennis in some new trainers a few weeks earlier. This had allowed one side of the nail (from top to bottom) to become infected, causing it to slowly die off. The solution, it would appear, had killed off the dead nail, causing it to separate from the healthy nail.It doesn't look pretty now but most of the infected nail has now gone - I just need to keep applying the solution until everything is back to normal. My other toe also looks much better by the way. If I wasn't so lazy, and looked after my feet properly every day I'd never need this, but it'll be one of those things I'll keep turning to, every time it comes back. If I could afford it, I'd visit a chiropodist every month but until I can afford it I'll stick to using this stuff. It seems to work very well!

I’m a bit suspicious…
Firstly it’s good to get a decent sized bottle of treatment for a tenner. Most suppliers of this sort of stuff charge a small fortune for a measly insulting tiny 5ml bottle of something that doesn’t work. However, I’m a bit puzzled as to how something that reportedly contains numerous oils and other ingredients, can turn out as a totally clear liquid. Perhaps someone from Thera could explain.Although I have so far only applied this liquid twice, both times the brush fell into the bottle. I had to use a pair of tweezers to fish it out. So I’ve just finished drilling a small hole through the lid then inserting a tiny self tapping screw down into the tube to correct the problem.I’ve given a whopping three stars so far purely for the price of a good size bottle, plus the very nice nail file included in the box.I have 6 infected nails which I keep trimmed though to the nail bed. I will update as necessary, baring in mind the time it takes to get any results, I might be gone for a long time. For 20 years at least I’ve tried almost everything under the sun. And my nails are still as bad. Unfortunately I can’t take oral anti fungal medication for medical reasons.Update April 2022. I’ve been using this treatment since the beginning of February. Softening nails three times daily is somewhat inconvenient. As I take a shower one each day that as much as I prepared to go. However, as I’ve cut back my toe nails completely away during the years I’ve been trying various useless alternatives this liquid easily rubs Ito the nail bed using your thumb. Hard to say but if it’s working ( unlike ridiculous revues saying they can see a difference in a day).I applied for the free gift offer, and received a very nice pot of fungal cream. I use this at bedtime on my nails. Some one made a comment saying since receiving their free gift they’ve received spam messages. I haven’t, so go ahead and take up the offer if it’s still available. It’s worth having. It’s nice between your toes too.Unfortunately, I dropped the lovely glass nail file that comes in the package, on my tiled bathroom floor smashing the file to pieces. I’m a bit miffed about that. It was a really good bit of kit.So, not much difference yet, my big toe nail appears to be growing though, but none of my other toe nails. I will update in a few months time. Oh, can I please have another nail file if you read this, Thera.Update: three months since I started applying this lotion. Absolutely no difference to any of the infected nails or nail bed. I have decided to stop the application and try 15% concentrate iodine. I recently read on a nail forum that this might work.

Top quality product at a fraction of the price of others
Having had limited success with the equivalent Scholl brushed product, I was still reeling at its cost (£10 for just 3.8ml) so thought it worth giving this brand a try at 1/13th the price by volume (£10 for 50ml). I was immediately reassured by the quality package replete with excellent nail file, spare brush and the pleasing scent of natural essential oils. In use, along with liberal filing with the very effective nail file provided, the large bottle meant I didn't feel the same need to be so sparing in its application. Perhaps consequently, the treatment has been much more effective than previously, despite a nasty stubbed toenail and a recent diabetes diagnosis. Highly recommended.
