Back To The Future: The Very Best Of Jodeci

Man, this takes me all the way back to when I was 13 and in the eighth grade when I first bought Forever My Lady. NO ONE sings love ballads like these talented brothers. They perfected the please-baby-please-begging-on-my-knees song that other groups have not been able to pull off with same urgent quality. All of their great slow jams are here with the exception of "U & I" (don't know why they left this one off). Also missing is "Gotta Love," which was their first single off of FML.I agree with the other review. The songs on this CD are timeless and sound just as good today as they did back in the 90s. Jodeci's melodic yearnings, gospel inflections, and soaring cadences are forever captured on this great CD.

With only 3 albums in the early 90's, the 4 man group from North Carolina, Jodeci, was one of the best R&B groups of their time, and maybe one of the best ever. Being a fan of rap I don't have many R&B CD's (maybe a dozen) but this is one I had to own. With 16 songs, you get some of their best as a group. Trax 1-4 are from "Forever My Lady" (1991), Track #5 is off MTV Unplegged album and is a remake of a Stevie Wonder song, Trax 6-9 are from "Diary of a Mad Band" (1993) and trax 12 & 13 are remixes of songs off that album, and trax 10, 11, 14 ,16 are from "The Show, The Hotel, The Afterparty" (1995) and #15 is a remix off that album. of the 16, 2 are classics, 1 is almost a lcassic, 4 are ok, the rest are good songs. I'd have liked to shear a few K-Ci & JoJo songs on here but I guess they only did Jodeci songs that all 4 members were a part of. Production is nice as well, DeVante Swing did 13 songs and Dalvun DeGrate did 3.#1 - 9#2 - 8#3 - 10 (CLASSIC)#4 - 8#5 - 7#6 - 6.5#7 - 9#8 - 7.5#9 - 8.5#10 - 9.5#11 - 9 (remix with Ghostface Killlah & Raekwon from Wu-Tang is a classic, this is still a tight song though)#12 - 9#13 - 8#14 - 10 (Classic)#15 - 6.5#16 - 6Check all my reviews

I bought this album for the love song "do you believe in love, and the promise that it gives... I wanna love you for life..." the song that's kind of slow but fast and I always think of TLC's T-BOZ getting married in the video (that wasn't true) but made the song that much more interesting and compelling! Great love song. I bought the album explicitly for that song. :)

Nothing like old classics!

Memory lane! Jodeci made some outstanding music.

Music sounds good and quality is perfect!

Jodeci is classic, and this album puts many of their greatest jams together in one spot and in a clean version at that! Again, in my mind another artist that was on the cusp of blowing up, if only they would have toned down their sexuall-ness a tad, or at least their vulgarity in some of their lyrics. Still, good baby making music.

This item was given as a gift to a friend, who specifically requested it, and expressed great satisfaction on receiving it. Pricing, delivery and product integrity were all satisfactory. My rating it a 4 out of a possible 5 reflects only the fact that I lack first hand experience with the purchased item, and can only reflect the limited information conveyed to me by its recipient.

Listening to the album reminded me why I loved the group back in the day. Vocals on point and emotive.

I have been in love with the whole Jodeci thing since the 90's when they first burst onto the UK scene.Been to most of their concerts......they are a fantastic group, who perform well, i just had to replace this CD ( the other one is played out now!) it has all the great tracks which gets you reminiscing and singing out loud (very loud in my case!)If you like your music soulful, smoochy.....with just a little narrrsty, erotic flavour :-) then you will not be disappointed with this album !!

I like it but I only like a few of the songs. Not really that bothered about this one I could take it or leave it but at least I have it. It will probably grow on me.

Reminisced the good old days, times and parties! This is what proper music is all about !

i needed this CD to remind me of the good old days with Jodeci, because at present all i can do is pray for them .

Loved K-Ci and Jojo on their own. Brought this as seeing them in concert but basically they were a washout so cant play this without sad memories of who they used to be.
