Simmons 1160 Cast Iron Pitcher Pump, #2

The Quality Department should be spoken to. The pump has several imperfections, random indents on the pump. Looks like either the forging form wasn’t filled with molten material or it was chipped and they painted right over to cover it up, not sure. Cheaply made cotter pins. I should have waited and shopped around for an older vintage pump. At least it would add character to my farmhouse.

We have used this for about a month now to pump water from our rain cistern into our watering bucket. It is so cool! Before I purchased this, I had a hose plumbed in to the drain valve, and this was such a pain to use. With this pump, it is a breeze. I installed a foot valve, but still have to prime it occasionally. This isn't a problem, either. I keep an old drinking water bottle handy and when I have to use it, I just refill it and put the cap back on it to save it for next time. Just pour it in the top of the pump and after a few strokes, it picks up the water and away you go.

Pump was working fine for a year, after a year the handle on the pump broke. Bought warranty at the time of purchase and trying to replace the item but seller is being very difficult with the replacement of this.

We needed a pitcher pump and went on-line looking. We found three different companies who advertised the pumps. We wanted a bright red one and this one appeared to meet our desires. When we received the package and opened it, we couldn't have been more pleased with the appearance and finish. Thanks for delivering as advertised.

Would love it if it was made in America! We haven't used it yet, and are looking forward to using it.

Pump is solid, well built. Should last a lifetime. Arrived on time and in perfect condition. High quality merchandise. 5 stars!!
