Mascara tends to really irritate my eyes. I’m very sensitive to most all other drug store brand mascaras so I wanted something EWG verified. This mascara is not my favorite, but it doesn’t have the harsh chemicals that many popular brands on the market today have. I did come to find that this mascara is NOT waterproof, unfortunately. Regardless, less chemicals and it doesn’t irritate my eyes. I’ll keep using it !

I love the formula of this mascara. It doesn't flake or smudge on me at all and is waterproof. My lashes are soft with this formula on them which I like. It would be five stars if not for two things. First, the color. It is not "cocoa" or the "reddish brown" anticipated. As a natural redhead who prefers natural looking makeup I really, really wanted this to be an actual reddish brown/cocoa color as described. But it's black. Thankfully a soft black so it's still wearable for me even if more noticeable than I'd like, but not the stark black like all the far more common "blackest black" mascaras that are more common. And secondly, as many have stated, the wand is a bit ridiculously large particularly at the end and that makes applying the product awkward and difficult. My usual mascara is about at it's life expectancy and it's greatest downfall is that it is not waterproof and as someone with watery eyes who wears contacts and frequently uses rewetting drops to keep said contacts from becoming uncomfortably dry, I really want to find a good waterproof mascara that's actually a light brown/auburn shade, assuming it exists which so far it doesn't seem to. I'll probably be sterilizing the wand from that mascara to use with this one to make application easier. I really do love this formula. It just needs to be made in an actual cocoa color and with a reasonably sized wand!

I prefer a slimmer and curved brush so that I can avoid mascara from ending up under my lashes. This brush is thick and straight and I am having difficulty not coloring underneath my lashes. The color goes on well and offers thickness and volume, but I do not prefer the brush.

I really like the depth of its dark black color

I love that this product is EWG certified! It makes my lashes look fuller and comes off easier than other water proof/resistant products I have used. One thing that would make this product better is the brush applicator, it is to too fat. The applicator should be a little narrower, that way it would make it easier to apply to the lash and prevent accidently getting my eyelid or check.

I really love that this mascara has clean ing and is EWG certified.I have to agree with other reviews on the brush, though. It is very “plush” but it makes it awkward to use. I read other reviews from people with shorter lashes, I have long lashes but they’re quite blonde and so I have to make sure I’m covering them from root to tip. I feel like I can’t get enough of the product on my lashes in order to “volumize” them, and I end up with smudges on my lid.I saw another user who just used a different brush from a different product, and I’ll probably end up doing that.

I like the mascara, but the brush is so big it gets all over my eyelid

On day two now. Now sure how the texture of the formula will change over time. Goes on smooth, but too thin. Needs 3 coats (I’ve never done multiple coats) to get the desired effect. Never fully get the BAM, LASHES effect though. Does its job and holds for 4-5 hours, but then ends up as a shadow under my eyes. Can’t just dab it off because of the water proof formula. Would have to use makeup remover and do my under-eye makeup all over again. Think I’m gonna retire it…

The brush is awkward - but the mascara is a nice consistently and goes on smoothly, without clumps. That said, about an hour after application it is dripping down my face. I like the idea that it is a pure product and that’s my preference to buy. But my tube has gone in the garbage after trying for a couple of days with very disappointing results.

It has a very thick brush and is a little harder to get a good coating on the lashes and does smudge below the eyes.

I cry a lot and you would never know it with this mascara.

Saw the negative reviews, thought I would give it a shot. Nope, reviews are accurate - terrible brush, very thin, smudges, and....comes off with water???
