awesome sound
I bought this snare because of the price, and, I chose a steel snare because with steel there isn't that much variance in the sound that u get......what I mean is different types of wood resonate differently so wooden snare drums would sound much different depending on what type of wood used and the preparation..........but to me steel is steel, brass is brass, the only difference u may find in sound is dependent on the size and amount of vent holes and the heads used and tuning. (maybe I'm ignorant or maybe my ears aren't as finely tuned as some of those 'drum connoisseurs' would have u to believe theirs are)this snare gives an awesome sound if u know how to tune it........it looks awesome and the heads it comes with are pretty cheap......they kinda remind me of a toy kit.....but looks aren't everything, even though they're cheap heads if u take the time to tune them properly u end up with a really nice sound.the snare wires loose tension while playing ..... because the adjustment knob turns with the vibration....but then that's and easy fix for me, since I rarely mess with the tension of my snare wires anyways.... I just tighten them up at the lowest setting on the adjustment....that way even when its adjusted all the way down its still pretty tight.I like a lot of controlled overtones and ringing on my snare and this snare achieves that control. in my opinion it really is worth the money as long as u know what u're doing. if u like a more dampened sound I'm pretty sure some moongel will solve your issues. All in all I would and have recommended it to other drummers and will continue to do so...........such has been my experience, I hope it helps u with your decision.

This is a great piccolo snare for the price and for the quality ...
I don't usually leave reviews but this was a must. This is a great piccolo snare for the price and for the quality it has a nice trigger mechanism I do not know what the factory Head sound like I already had a replacement already to replace it with and rhe beathhead that you can use is ST dry Genera or HD Dry Genera which would give you that pop. I had to do some doctoring on the snare to get it how I want it to sound and it sounds great it comes with free sticks and a drum key, 49 bucks what else could you want.I'm a drummer 25 years and this is just a great deal all the way around.

Good budget snare drum
This snare has about a quality you would expect from a buy, but it is reliable enough. The lugs can come loose every now and then, the sound is decent, and it is quite strong. I am actually using it for a travelling kit! I store it all in a suitcase and use it for gigs, and it does the job.

Can't be beat for the price
This is a great snare for the pric, you should definitely factor in the cost of new heads though, the ones that come on the drum are worthless. The Strainer is nice but doesn't quite move the snares enough, for me this isn't a problem because I don't and will not use this snareless but it doesn't come off or anything. It does sound good and Is a lot of fun to play, I recommend for drummers on a budget to pick it up.

Worth it.
I’m giving this snare a 5 star rating for price and quality of build. It is fantastic.. if you change both top and bottom heads and I also changed the snares. After that it sounded as good as any piccolo snare I ever bought.

Great snare drum!
This is a very good snare drum, especially considering the price. If you're looking for a loud snare, this is it! It also comes with a drum key and sticks which isn't mentioned in the description (the sticks aren't that great, but they are free so I can't complain). I would recommend tuning it when you get it, it doesn't come perfectly in tune. Other than that, it's a great snare!

Excellent Snare Drum!
It's small, it's light, and it looks great. The snare strainer works well and is comfortable to use, and overall, I would consider this a great buy. A word of caution, though: the factory drum heads are OK for temporary use, but you should order your preferred batter heads along with this or shortly thereafter. Otherwise, this is an excellent snare drum and it sounds wonderful!
