Cardamom Pods

I absolutely love the taste of this. It’s a very unique flavour and goes well in tea. I haven’t used it for anything else yet but I’m sure I will. The pods themselves seem very fresh and very well packaged. I can’t speak for any health benefits yet because I haven’t used them long enough to notice any. The flavour alone make them worth using and any health benefits is a bonus.

I used the cardamon pods in a curry and they were lovely. Made the curry very tasty.

I used it with rice was very delicious.

We eat a lot of cardamom in our house, being Indian, it's in our cooking, our snacks, and just as mouth freshener. We were disappointed to find so many pods weren't fresh (only around 1 in 40). Fresh cardamom has black seeds, anything else (browns/greys/off white) and they're old pods, they don't hold the same flavour and have a horribly woody texture. Fresh pods have black seeds that are shiny, crunchy, with a stickiness to them. I was really disappointed with having to go through half the packet in order to collect only 5 pods that could pass the lowest standard. Won't be buying again

These are super small and mostly without any fragrant seeds inside. It's nice and green but certainly not how it's described as 8mm+, no where close to that size. You have to use several of them to smell the aroma and most of them are hollow and without seeds. There's a better company on Amazon that I've been ordering from and their Cardamom are exceptional, I made a mistake changing. Update: it took this company 3 months to acknowledge their this post and they since have sent me another package. Not sure if this shipment corresponds to their website description but nevertheless, they followed up.

Spice Train is owned by Vahdam Tea. I apparently bought these cardamom pods when they were in the process of switching from organic to not organic. The product had changed, but the picture of the product and its description on the Amazon page had not--it still said organic. I received a bag just labeled "natural." I initiated a request for a replacement. After nearly a month, I had not received anything. After writing to them a second time, I received the "natural", non-organic version again. No explanation was given. They should have just told me what was going on and refunded my money. Now I have two bags of non-organic cardamom pods. I used to be a regular Vahdam tea customer, but over the years, their customer service has proved to be less than stellar. I switched to Tea Box and will be looking for a different spice purveyor. I gave the product three stars because, y'know, it's cardamom. How bad can it be?
