METIS - Flipper METIS (MET ISS) Named for the Titaness of wisdom and deep thought, she was the embodiment of "prudence and wisdom". In greek, Metis means the personal traits of wisdom and cunning. This medium size folder is a very comfortable everyday carry. The sleek blade and fast opening from the flipper tab makes for a great looking and a very functional tool. The frame is 6AL-4V titanium with a solid machined titanium clip and backstrap. A titanium disk Hinderer device keeps the lock bar travel fixed. The blade rotates on GTC Alpha bearings for a smooth action. The blade is made of CPM S35VN with a slight scallop on top to allow for index finger control on blade spine.

One Word: Quality!
I'm not quite certain what initially attracted me to this little knife but if cornered, I'd have to say that is was probably the clean lines and relatively smaller size; but that smaller size is a definite advantage to this 'gentleman's flipper' knife, and flip, it does! no effort, nor flick of the wrist needed for this little guy; just nice smooth bearings.The action is smooth as silk and just as quiet; you won't wake anyone out of their beauty sleep by flipping this to your heart's content. The stone-wash finish is a perfect shade of silver/gray; Gentlemanly! A very nice carry piece but also would suffice in a tactical situationThe blade of s35vn nicely, and plainly matches the handle scales which gives it the even more "Esquire look".
