Good story and perfect delivery condition.
I loved this book because it was detailed and well written. The story was well paced and the characters were human. The struggles that the main character faces were typical in the Cultural Revolution and made me feel angry towards the bullies and sorry for the main protagonist. All in all it was a good and unique read. When the book first arrived, it was in perfect condition and didn't have any tears, dog-ears or other problems associated with books' conditions.

Griping account of the Chinese Cultural Revolution
The combination of a very likable character caught in a very stressful time made this true story hard to put down. Reading about how Ling navigates the journey from privileged child to outcast provides a deep and personal account of what it is like to live through a political upheaval.
